I agree. Changing QBs isn't going to make Crowton come up with a better gameplan. Until that changes, it doesn't matter who the QB is.

the only way it could be worse is if the offense averages negative yardage.

What if Lee were actually able to release the ball to an open receiver on those "slow developing" downfield pass plays?

JJ doesn't need to now and never needed to be playing in a Gary Crowton offense. He needs to be running the read option.

Why does being thrown into a situation that is "over his head" last year mean that he is "a couple of years away from being ready for big games"? People are drawing asinine conclusions. The kid played well at times last year and has enormous physical talent throwing the ball. He's had an entire off season to improve and a chunk of last season's worth of experience to lean on. All things point to an improved Lee from last year. How about the kid gets to play at least one full series before we start claiming that he isn't ready for big games until a couple of years from now. That's absolutely ridiculous.

First of all, you are assuming there are open receivers. I'm not seeing it.
What I'm seeing is a predictable offense where defenses have our receivers covered, and said receivers are not doing enough to get open after running the original route.
I don't see putting a QB in there just to heave it up for grabs on every pass play.
16 INTs and a 7-5 season wasn't a lot of fun for me, maybe you enjoyed it.

This I can agree with. Crowton appears to be running the same offense regardless of who the QB is. To me that's assinine when you have QBs like JJ and Lee with such different approaches.

O.K. Now you've lost your mind. Have you not seen JJ run the option???????

Yeah or wait I just thought of another....what IF an LSU QB kept throwing pick 6s to teams that ended up amounting to giving away 42 points in a season? Deja vu!! I do believe it has already happened...last year!

One semi-regular statement continues to amaze me:

"wasting all that talent on offense"

Uh, you KNOW that offense includes 5 OL right? Tell me how many of these OL could start on a top half of the SEC caliber team? Answer...MAYBE 1 at the best! Sooooooo, "all that talent" includes a bunch of OL who aren't even SEC caliber starters the way they are playing this year.

JJ refuses to throw the ball unless the number 1 option gets wide open. Its been like this since the beginning of the season. JJ only throws short safe passes. The long ones he's completed were wide open and easy. He doesnt understand how to check down or read the field so he either takes off running or gets sacked. Thats not the sign of a good QB.....

The Washington game LaFell got pissed bc JJ almost missed a TD by waiting so long to throw. The ULL game JJ missed multiple people deep by waiting, underthrowing, or overthrowing. He just lacks the natural passing sense a good QB should have.

I don't see how it could get worse.

JJ gets sacked ten times per game instead of five or six

what makes you think the players want to play for Lee

Our players play for championships not for the QB. Just ask Les Miles.

the qb probably wouldn't start for any of the top 8-9 SEC teams...

Yep, hope they work on Jefferson getting better.

This could be said of Lee too. Actually Lee hasn't shown me any negatives this year to prove otherwise. He's passing at 100% completion rate and every third pass is a touchdown

Then you are fricking blind. Florida's DBs were getting beat all night. You're just assuming this because JJ doesn't throw the ball before getting sacked. Most of those sacks were NOT coverage sacks. JJ has receivers and TEs open but just doesn't see them. He is horrible at read progressions and doesn't have the quick release to get the ball out fast enough on slow developing plays. Not to mention, his footwork and pocket awareness is abysmal.

Read dmitch's (Rueben Randle's brother in case you don't know) thread.....this is discussed in great detail. Very good thread, IMO
