Lost 4 games to ULL, Tulane and Southeastern- win those (as we're supposed to) and we're 41-21.

Did Skip ever go undefeated in midweek games? I’m truly curious. But when you’re pitching young inexperienced..and quite frankly not your best pitchers...and you’re giving some playing time to everyday players on the end of your bench ...you really can’t expect to go 14-0. It’s baseball. Not to mention we always struggle against rag arms

We were one of the lowest ranked 2 seeds.

We def deserved to go to a top 8 seed. Sometimes it isnt possible to get everyone close to home

It makes more sense for me to ship us further out, than unfairly giving us the benefit of playing at a weaker host close to home

So you just agreed with me. Midweek games wouldn't put us over the hump. It would have also taken sweeping Hawaii and winNing the ND series.

Yep, to host.

For practical purposes, I would put the Notre Dame and Hawaii games in the same group as "midweek".
Those were early home series that were expected to be sacrificial lambs for a major power like LSU is supposed to be. Worst case scenario, we go 5/6 and bitch about the lone loss , not 3-3 and get our teeth kicked in twice (Notre Dame won 10-5 and 11-3).

The instate midweek games, we lose 3 games by 1 run, once by 2. If I recall right, we had the lead late at least a few times.

Of course the SEC schedule doesn't help our cause- swept by S Carolina, losing home games to a bad Mizzou and a terrible Bama. Only sweep was against Tennessee, and we lose every road series.

Those are the 'little things' that separate this season from others, when we'd be a national seed. We sweep Bama and Mizzou, take one road series, and handle business OOC and we're a national seed.

A&M got a much better draw than us as a 3 seed. I actually would say they are the favorite to come out of that region.
It is what it is. Somebody was going out West as a 2 seed. The only non PAC west coast team they could justify giving a 2 seed to was CSF and they are at Stanford. It was going to be a SEC team or BIG team going out west.

Carolina also got a favorable draw, only travelling 1 1/2 hours to Greenville. We had a better RPI than they did also. They lost some bad midweek games. But Ray Tanner was the head of the committee, so I guess that helped

You know who really got screwed in the SEC. Arkansas, that regional is brutal with USM and DBU.

ETA: Ole Miss got a shitty draw as a national seed also.

No, no they didn't.

Posts like this make the fan base look idiotic, entitled, and whiny.

Just because you can't understand it doesn't make it not so. A&M is sent a few hours away as a 3 seed in a better draw. LSU is sent across the country as a 2 seed. Both were 'on the bubble' going into the SEC tourney and LSU went 1 game further. It is typical bullshite.

I don’t think Oregon State is thrilled to have LSU in their regional. We are not a very good team, but have been playing better of late. We’d have to knock off a top seed somewhere along the way. Might as well start with the regional!!!
