That interview on the homepage where Orgeron is saying that the staff he has assembled now has no problem telling Orgeron "Yes Sir You're Right" if Orgeron wants something corrected....

I guess Matt Canada wasn't having any of that.

Now he has what he wanted to start with. HIs ego is so freaking fragile. He already erupted twice this OFFSEASON. First the episode with Jerry Sullivan visiting Seattle and then with the Jimbo questions. What happens when the real bullets start flying?

O painted himself in a corner. He promised Alleva he would get Kiffin. When that fell apart he was forced to get a big name. A five minute review of Canada's coaching history would have told you the guy was hard to work with.

Alleva wanted and now has too much control of the football program.

Maybe he'll post about it on an anonymous message board

This implies that getting a big name, probably a big name because he's good, was a bad thing.

As long as they actually agree with Orgeron and aren't just being "yes men" this is a good thing.

"I've learned to take my time in choosing a staff."

Why the hell do you have to learn to be deliberate in choosing the people who will determine your success or failure?

This is what I mean. He makes mistakes that most other HCs just don't make. You get to this pinnacle of your profession, why the hell would you take choosing a staff lightly?

I just hope he doesn’t think he will be able to throw Ensminger under the bus if the offense does poorly.

That won’t fly.

I'm saying the only reason he was considered was because he was a Broyles finalist.

Does he fit the culture of the program? Does his offense fit what we want to do? Can he recruit?

All of this was ignored because O promised a big name. That was the only criteria.

This program would have been better off if he just gave SE the job from day 1. Now they are installing their third offense in 3 years.

"I've learned my offseason preparation and approach to fall camp resulted in a team that was mentally SOFT at the first sign of adversity."

More alarming that he didn't mention anything about what the hell caused the LSU team in early 2017 to look like they thought they were entitled to be a dominant program despite getting their shite pushed in by Miss State and Troy.

Why not? Ensminger doesn't have any better options so he can't mouth off about it.

Yeah I just heard this quote.

He wants people to do what he says. He doesn't seem to be open to a contest of ideas, or for anyone to give constructive pushback. He wants to foster a dynamic that's more dictatorial than collaborative. It's what I've long thought, ever since the offensive meddling began to come to light and his response to it was "I'm the head coach, we do what I say."

That's what he means when he says they're on the same page, they'll do exactly what he wants. Welp, he's got what he wants, a bunch of followers.

I for one am happy that he says so many things (like this) that a wiser man might just keep to himself.

Promoting both from within at the beginning would've soured even more people.

Everyone knows Ensminger bleeds purple and gold, unlike O who is in like his 3rd “dream job” and trashed LSU when he was at other schools.

Plus O convinced E to take the job when he never really wanted it.

Fans won’t buy it.

you just keep reinforcing my point

It was about optics first, not what was best for the future success of the football team.

33 posts and the best you can do is a "Pomansky" reference?

I agree with all of this. It's in my post history that I was not a huge fan of Canada, though I do think his concepts were intriguing with LSU's athletes.

Orgeron and Alleva went after him because he was "the" big name at OC and it's what Orgeron sold himself on.

ETA:

As long as they are agreeing because it's in the best interest of the program, I'm all for it. However, if it's just saying yes because it's what Orgeron wants, and the don't actually agree with it, there will be a problem and it will show quickly.

I believe it will be more of the former than the latter.
