It was obvious during the press conference, and has been many other times during CLM career that these guys are more than just players to him. I've seen parents care less about their kids than he does about the guys that play football for him. All the talk about CLM losing control of the team etc is ridiculous. Part of why he is such a great recruiter is because he wins the parents of these kids over. They trust in him to watch over their children, make sure they get an education, keep them out of trouble, mold them into great people, and win football games. With recent events I'm sure he feels like he has let down A LOT of people and its probably killing him. No matter how you feel about the players, their actions, or the qb competition, you can't blame the coach. A lot of good parents have kids that stray and screw up. Its life.
For those of yall looking for someone to blame, give it up!
Just had to get that out. Tl,dr (don't blame ya)

I agree

and He is forced to suspend some players for breaking team rules because of the very thing you speak of. Character. Miles has it and will instill it in his team even if it costs us games/season.

I'm not blaming Coach Miles for any of this in the least.

On the contrary, I feel bad for him. He was let down by kids he trusted and cared about. He didn't deserve this, particularly when he needs to be worrying about other things more pertinent to the upcoming season...like Oregon, for instance.

He is not forced to suspend some players. He will mete out the punishment that he thinks is appropriate. That may or may not include suspensions. His rules. His punishment.

This incident is another reminder of how difficult it must be to coach a big time college football team. Your livelihood depends in large part on the decisions that 18-23 year olds make on and off the field. Tough thing to control.

And I do believe that he has every right to hold his players to a higher standard than other non-student athletes on the LSU campus. I am tired of reading ranters post about the fights they were in when they were in college and make "boys will be boys" type posts. These type of ranters didn't represent the university like these athletes do.

How could you? Dude has tons of other players to look after, all of which are mostly teenagers in college...he can't help kids wanting to be kids. If they want to sneak out and blow off steam in a social setting, they're going to do it. Their decisions in such setting should be in no way, a direct reflection on Miles and how he tries to lead this team.

Let's keep this thread positive. Let's just support the coach and whatever his decision may be.

You can't feel bad for people because they are financially successful?
