Eh. Their pitching hasn’t been that great tbh.

Are you aboard the save Skenes train?

I’m just using that as an example. You don’t experiment at this point in the season.

It’s a bad example though. If you’re going to start him, then there’s not much difference in bringing him in in the first or second with the slightest sign of danger.

Start Skenes. Get to the weekend. Worry about it when you get there.

Yep, there should be no conservation strategies, unless we get a 10+ run lead.

Elimination games should be balls to the wall, does you no good to save anything if you lose.

I’ve already said I’m confident we win tomorrow if Skenes pitches 5+.

Well if you’re going to have him warming up in the first inning anyway, you might as well start him.

You might not have to though

So you’re going to burn him either way, but you don’t want him to start. Noted

I think you have to use him tomorrow at some point. Whether that’s to start the game and get a lead or finish it, I think he has to go a few innings. The. He’s available Sunday.

If you throw Skenes today and make it to game 3 of the series I think he can give you some on Monday… we have to hope we get a good lead tonight and don’t have to make him throw 120+ pitches

You have to win tonight so you throw your best guy

You would have him for Monday, assuming UF forces a game 3.

Holy shite. You realize if they lose tonight that they’re done, and they’ve used up the guys in the pen that can go several innings, right?

Right???

Our 2 games were 3-2 and 5-2 (the 5-2 had all runs scored very early). Pitching in this series has been great for both.

I think you have to start Skenes but I have thought of a possibility of starting someone like Guidry and seeing if he can put a 0 up in the 1st and then have LSU hang a crooked number up Bot 1 and maybe try and ride Guidry as long as he can go. But the first second the tying run comes up you forget it and put in Skenes.
It's risky and if it works you look like a genius, just don't think we can take the chance

This is what I’m saying. Sure it is risky but the payoff would be huge.

I think for some reason people equate starting some else to Skenes can’t pitch. Which I’ve never said.

I think WF is on their heels. They’ve never been in this situation this postseason.

If lsu bars can come out hot and get you a nice lead with someone besides Skenes pitching, ride it and see what happens.

I honestly understand what you’re saying. I just think Jay puts value in routines and Skenes has a specific routine he’s used all year to get ready and start and I just don’t see them messing with that before a game like this.

This whole idea is stupid. If you knock someone down in a fight, you don't give them a chance to get back up. You step on their throat. I can't fathom how so many, including myself, have entertained this idea for so many pages.

A lot of you guys must have loved the #2 in the nation rings in 2011. Wasting Skenes here because, and I paraphrase “you have to put your best out there in a do or die game” is like Les Miles game plan on 1-9-12. Just sports cliche for no real reason.

We just fricking won two do or die games without Skenes.

We will not beat Florida without him.

You all will get your “number 2 in the nation” rings again

If we lose to florida without getting to throw Skenes that’s going to have a big ole asterisk (just like 1/9 honestly) and probably force a change of format.

Hell I’d already be lobbying to start the series on Monday for player safety.
