I do think Devin should not have hit as high as he did but he did try to pull up. Should have been personal foul - but NO TARGETING. The point is there is a double standard. On these calls Bama gets benefit of doubt.. their opponents - NEVER!!! That is the point. Nothing what you wrote really applies that much.

Oh Al Ford. Originally from Texas but owned an Insurance Agency FLORENCE ALABAMA...Here is an article from 2002 and questionable calls in three games where he was refereeing. The PC BS answers are from Bobby Gaston who was head of official coordinating for SEC at the time.

-"A crew ruled last season that a Georgia player fumbled at the 1-yard line in the final seconds against Georgia Tech with the scored tied, although replays showed the ball popped out on the ground. Tech won in overtime, and the SEC suspended the officials.
--A referee missed what could have been a key fumble by Alabama on Sept. 9 against Vanderbilt, which lost 28-10. Vandy coach Woody Widenhofer also complained the crew twice failed to award the Commodores a touchdown when it appeared they scored.

-Last Saturday, a referee awarded Florida a hotly disputed touchdown in the Gators' 27-23 victory over the Vols. Gaston said replays were inconclusive, and the official was in the best spot to make a call. "I think he was right," said Gaston.
While that might seem like a lot of questioned calls to the average fan, Gaston said there has been no increase in disputed decisions. It's all a matter of public perception, he said.

Some fans and media critics have been hard on referee Al Ford of Florence, who was on the field for each of the three disputed games. Ford is one of the league's senior officials, with more than two decades of experience."

What makes you think this? You've conversed with the rest of the country? If this is true it's probably people just whining because they are jealous. Like other fan bases don't complain about referee's, bad calls etc. Georgia fans still crying and whining and making excuses about losing to LSU. Anybody that thinks the LSU fan base is a joke and a laughing stock is an ignorant moron that knows nothing about college athletics. Just insecure babies that wish their team was ranked number 4 in the country. Pitiful little cry babies.

Agreed. I understand frustration, but we really need to get over it. I missed seeing the game live so it seems nothing at all happened in the game but this one thing.

No, it's valid and LSU, as well as the fans, should fight it.

What is wrong with you? Just bend over and take it?

There's been a history of similar accusations against this ref.

It's worth looking into.

Because of this??? No.. Most fans would react the exact same way. Or because people on SEC rant are using this as an opportunity to troll?

Please, you are the one making this place look bad.. calling everyone a disgrace. You look worse than anyone whining about an atrocious call that impacts a player's eligibility for a half of the most important game of the season.. and his last game against Alabama.

This is not about jealousy. It is still a right and wrong issue.

No.
It was not a questionable call.

As one writer said, "It was a trashmonkey call."

If you want to start with a premise, how about making it a factual one.

If I want to whine, I’ll just whine , and I seriously won’t check in to see if I have your approval first. That’s because it’s not about you.

Oh BTW....
The Forum is called the "Rant". It is by definition intended for complaining about anything and everything one might want to. Or it can be used to heap compliments and show excitement for anything and everything.

What are the 2 worst reviews you can think of? Peterson int and white? Who benefited the most from both those calls?

Any player in the position Devin was in is taught to try and disrupt the QB throw. The QB arm is head high. Devin was going in with arms up in attempt to block throw. Simply put...This called football. If you want the QB protected build better blockers around him. That's also football.

Could White have gone to the midsection? Yes and then there's no issues.

um he did.

He pushed the player with his hands at the chest maybe upper chest but basically at the chest. Other than rapping up with the head going to the side (which would be a flag in the NFL, with the likely outcome he lands with his body weight on him) there are few safer ways to sack a QB than what he did.
