re: The Waters pass was not dumb, and not calling a time out isn't a bad call

I would like to see their conversion stats on that alley this season. That’s the first one I’ve seen them miss and the back cut was wide open.

the pass was just overthrown y all

Being aggressive is fine, but the pass was too high of a risk

Which is why I said, it was poor execution.

Bro that wasn’t a simple alley oop pass from inside the free throw line.

The dunk was open.

No it wasn't.

The pass was off target.

Because there were a bunch of tall dudes with their arms up and Tre overthrew them all.

I’m talking that specific baseline play I’ve seen them complete multiple times this season

I'm glad one person was watching the same game as me.

What's a better shot than a wide open dunk?

A halfcourt alley oop to with the game on the line (pressure situation) to a player who has made many crazy dunks, but also miss handled or missed multiple alley oops this year, is not just a “wide open dunk”

If that play was successful and LSU would have won, there would not be one single thread on this topic.

Nothing. But that's not what happened.

It was an alley oop from half fricking court.

Don't get it twisted.

Not from 45 feet away. That wasn’t a baseline pass that was from beyond the timeline.

Here’s the reason. It didn’t work and we failed at the alley oop and the three shots we got at the end.

If you’ve been watching games closely lately, tremont has struggled with on the money alley oops. He had three bad ones tonight, including the crucial one with 45 seconds left.

If wade calls a timeout as tremont brings the ball up court maybe we get a drive to the basket and a foul, which is what got us back in the game.

If he calls a timeout after we get down maybe we have a better play to go to. He could have called a timeout on any of the rebounds too when things looked very out of control. Too late now. We had to throw up a blind three falling away from the basket with 3 seconds left. But hey, maybe they’ll let us carry those timeouts to the next game.

The pass was bad. That's all that stopped that play. It was open.

The ally oop is not only low percentage in any level of basketball, but we connect on it 1 out of 5 times if that much. Bad play. Anyone who argues otherwise has zero knowledge of the game.

Of course not. That doesn't mean it wasn't a low percentage play though.

He missed 4 close range alley oops tonight. He hit the rim once or twice and was off target on every one.

He's missed a few this year. He's by no means automatic, especially standing at half court.

Gafford was gone Naz couldn’t be stopped, you go to him on the block and let him get fouled like he had nearly everytime in the final 6 minutes. It’s not rocket science, what Waters did was stupid.
