Chad Loup. Ask Gene Stallings and David Palmer about that one.

He may have sucked, but he at least seemed to always display that gamer fire. Brennan just looked flat to me.

He may never live up to his recruiting ranking. I’m just saying don’t give up on him after one 300+ yards game. He has much room for improvement. Let’s see what happens.

I really like the kid and admire his tenacity. Nobody is pulling for him harder than I am - it was just very disappointing to see yesterday.

Why was he running for his life????? Because he held onto the ball too long.
All doing this against a pretty shitty Moo St defense. Imagine what he'll do against Bama, AU, UF......

Yeah that’s dumb to suggest he should be benched this soon.

If a coach gives up on his QB after one game, what message does that send to the rest of the team? More importantly, what does it send to the young QBs we have along with the guys we have committed? Like somebody said, he waited for 4 years. His first start didn’t go according to plan but neither did Spencer Rattlers either. He had ups and downs but he showed enough to me that he can be something. Linehan and Slinger have to do a better job scheming him up confidence throws early and then build to the deep ball, which is what he does best. Just needs to feel like he can do it consistently

But if the guys (other QB) don't know the plays then isn't that almost a default start for brennan. So if brennan isnt progressing and getting better then it's time to open competition back up.
Max Johnson is the son of an NFL Super Bowl QB and has been learning the intricacies of position since he was old enough to pick up a football.

There's no way however, that O pulls Brennan at this point and inserts MJ. It would totally destroy Brennan as a useful member of the team.

You keep MB in there against Vanderbilt and Mizzou to let him work out the kinks against the weaker competition. If he can't make the needed improvements in the areas that's he's obviously deficient in, (Obvious to everybody except for the Sunshine Boys) then it may be time to at least give MJ or TJF some snaps.

The problem is, after Vandy and Mizzou, the level of competition elevates. (On the road against Florida. Home against SC and then at Auburn the next week)

We may have another Trevor Lawrence in Johnson, but do you pull Brennan and give him a shot against one of the SEC "Big Boys" on October 17th in Gainesville? O would be wise to at least get him in the game against Vanderbilt and Missouri. Don't repeat one of the same mistakes that Les Miles made. Get your backup's some PT just in case they are needed.........

He definitely struggled but as bad as the first half was he actually bounced back and got LSU the lead. Funny what happens when the backs have success running and the Oline protects. If he doesn’t lead a couple of scoring drives n the 3rd to put LSU up I’d be worried a lot more. And the D gives up a one play TD on the next drive. So I still have faith he can get better

How long did it take for Mullen to bench Franks? How did that work out?

Put Max in there now. Lawrence started right away. Trask started early. Let him get game experience against weaker competition.

Completely agree. In fact it was a very good performance, ranking fourth among all SEC quarterbacks Saturday. One arm bump away from 400 yards passing and four touchdowns.

I haven't been one of them. Never thought he would make it. Trust me, this kid doesn't have it. Pulling for him though. He may play well at Vandy, most QB's do! However, the thought of him playing Alabama, Fla., etc., is scary. Don't waste a season on this guy, and be looking at the same crap next year!
