The pitchers were shut down. And they wanted Cabrera (who already experienced Team USA) to get more ABs than the Team USA team would allow for.

Henry and if we could have seen what Jaden Hill could have done might have had a chance
It's mostly college sophomores with a year under their belt that get the call to USA tryouts and LSU didn't have any soph that had a chance

Why am I not surprised that LSU has no players even considered being worth a tryout? CPM has fallen short in recruiting and has misevaluated the talent of alot of players we ended up signing. His recruiting has sucked in recent years and I don't trust him to get this train back on the tracks. We need to cut ties with CPM and the sooner the better. Then, and only then, will we be able to start building our program back to where it should be, bc CPM isn't going to get it done. Screw CPM and geaux tigers.

I highly doubt LSU will want to eat the remaining $5 million on a contract for the coach of a sport that barely turns a profit. This isn't football. And that doesn't even account for the presumably huge contract we'd have to dole out to get a big-time replacement. Mainieri is going to be here for at least a couple more seasons, whether you or I like it or not.
