He commuted to that 2019 program and thought we’d be doing that all 4 years he was here.
Instead he spent the last year getting his shite kicked in while our booth switch back and forth calling plays.
I get Maybe just wanting a fresh start.
It sucks to lose the brother but at the same time, we couldn’t let that hold the QB position battle hostage forever.

I wouldn't touch a starter who quit on his team with one game to go if I was another program. This mindset is what ruined our culture. Get rid of the me players and recruit the we players.

Well, he sure did force Nuss to have a decision to make!
If he says he doesn’t want to play in the bowl game because he wants to save his red-shirt, he might as well enter the transfer portal as well. Because he will hear it from the students and fans at the games, not to mention being ripped up by the media and message boards I would assume.

My assumption here is that after some time with the new coach, Max realized that his chance of starting next year was going to be slim. QB competition under a new HC is going to be truly open. There are no gimme's. Nussmeier has a higher ceiling. Howard is inbound and there are a couple of good QB's in the portal. He read the writing on the wall and it said "transfer portal". Seriously doubt there was any call from any parents here.

I just didn’t think he was in a position yet to be having these conversations on starters and depth charts. I guess we’ll wait for the facts to come out.

I hope not. If kid wanted red shirt who the duck is anyone to say no or give him shite about it. That time is critical development time that a lot of qbs shoot any athletes need to let things click and become a draft pick and continue their career, or soak it all in and move onto a GA job somewhere.

I doubt that happened too since he was our starter even after Nuss got his shot against Arkansas. It's not like we have a loaded roster at QB.
