I think most of the ranters are still at home in momma's basement. you look at the last national championship in football, won every game but "not by enough points, let them score to much, etc etc, same in baseball. Like momma said, you cain't please everyone.

While not bashing Jay, I think the team deserves criticism. They play bad baseball.
Jay has many more championships in his future but this current team is really bad for many reasons that have been exhaustedly discussed.

A week or two before the the first game of the season, there was a lot of hype about the talent we have on the team. I still think, even with our record, most would agree that this is a very talented group.
This is the perfect storm that leads to negative comments. When you throw a bunch of money to get the talent, expectations are at the highest level.
In has been years and years since an LSU fanbase has felt any frustration with baseball.

Some mistakes were made in the off season. So what? Big whoop.
He gets paid a shite ton of money to not make those mistakes. He is a public figure. If he doesn't want people being critcial of him then either win more games or find a new profession. This is big time college baseball. If he doesn't win, people are going to talk about it.
The dumb shite is giving up on the team in the 2nd inning on March 4th or whatever.

I, for one, have absolute confidence that this gets turned around.
You can feel this way and still be critical when it's warranted and it's been warranted a bunch this year.

He could be making more from every second school in the top
Of the conference with better resources and facilities. That is without a doubt a fact. You better hope he doesn’t leave and fricking go to somewhere like Tejas A&M and fricking whip the piss out of us for the next 25 years as in go Saban on us.
Maybe ask yourself if LSU was in the Top 8 in NIL or What was LSU doing when others were signing these players? Like the ones they wanted and couldn’t pay?

We’re not going to sugarcoat comments and coddle JJ because of fear of him leaving.
Some big mistakes have been made and JJ is accountable. He gets a pass for this season because of the skins on the wall, but improvement has to continue and a repeat next year in the portal is intolerable.

1 - you will have to tolerate whatever happens because you have no effect on any decisions made.
2 - Jay could do worse next year and the year after that and absolutely nothing would happen.
You sure talk a big game though.

I get disappointed when things don’t work out with our sports teams. And then I do a sudoku puzzle or two and it’s like nothing ever happened

I agree with both sides of these rants. We were lead to believe by Jay that this was a complete rebuild as hard as we know that can be. As the transfer portal guys were brought in we were amazed. Expectations were high from what we read about these portal guys and we knew what we had with Milam, Stanfield and Brown and a couple of pitchers. And let’s be clear that Jay also lead us to believe the team was of championship caliber. Some of these guys are a far cry from what we expected. How is it that Jay missed so badly on a few of them, is what is amazing. Having said all of this I do believe Jay is the best coach in college baseball. My guess is that he could pop out of this gig at LSU and coach in the major league with an even larger contract than we can give him at anytime. Jay knows what he needs to win and knows he missed on lots of these guys. I firmly believe that he will correct this next year and we will be watching better baseball.i am for giving Jay a pass and say that he is in my mind at the top of this sport while saying he missed on some portal guys this year.
