And the guy is probably only going to be an analyst.

He seems good enough to be an assistant to me.

GFYS. Sorry your real team in green and gold lost, got bullied on the lines of scrimmage and didn’t cover the spread. Hopefully you bet the house on them.

So the first thing you look at in this hire is DEI and not the person's accomplishments? You're everything wrong with this country. Maybe you should look in the mirror.

i hope this guy can bring back some magic to our special teams.
but you still have to tackle on the kick and punt coverages.
i hope we put special emphasis this spring and fall camp on tackling techniques.

This does seem to be a good hire but not one you'd "lose it" over

Sadly, there are a lot of people in this country who thinks just like him. Some of them are just reluctant to voice it.

It also said in the linked article that he's well respected by his peers so I think that indicates good things

Never said that. Winners are great cultural fits at LSU.

I can't understand how this is being received negatively. Kelly has neglected STs his entire tenure here and this shows once again that he is willing to acknowledge and fix his mistakes (once again showing how poor the Les Miles comparisons are). STs is perhaps our biggest weakness heading into next season, and now we finally have someone responsible for fixing that. I know it's SWAC competition, but those are good numbers nationally and honestly just having someone responsible should improve this unit.

Also notice that the guy doesn't seem to have a football background from what i can tell. Just a random dude who decided to get into coaching and was able to get hired at Penn State and Baylor. That should tell you that he knows some stuff

A lot of posters here aren't very smart.

No, this guy is actually pretty good at his job. If he did that with grambling imagine what he can do with lsu talent

I have friends. I’ve heard he’s a really cool guy. He probably wouldn’t appreciate all of the racism… hopefully he doesn’t read the rant!

I agree with your initial statements and would also add I know very little about special teams coaching but re his coaching history I would imagine you start as an assistant at a Penn State a very good program and do well. People like you and give you good reviews. You take a job at Baylor and do well and move from assistant to the special teams job at Texas Southern and then Grambling. You then do exceptionally well at Grambling, people give you good reviews and you get the offer in the big time, LSU. Sounds like an ideal hire!
