The pickoff knee thing was all football play by our defense as earned that pick. The knee with his hand on the ball is no intent on his part. That's just too black and white on that. There is grey area and it was ignored. That's him picking it up to throw it. Nothing else. T hat gives them a huge lucky bailout. AM wouldn't have said nothing, nor any other true football person. We earned every bit of t hat turnover.

no, i saw a different angle on the news today, view from backfield shows he was knee down when he picked up the ball. the interception called back was the right call.

the angle from the front makes it look like his knee lifted but it was a good call

Even if it was technically correct the spirit of the rule is to prevent advancement. Since you blew the call in the first place, letting it go is preferable to reversal.

If his knee was down it was the right call. The only annoying thing is that we all know, sure as shite, they would not have taken a second glance at it if it were a complete pass for A&M.

Good call by the refs. Can’t blame them, either, for missing it live. But had it been called correctly the Tigers win easily. That would have cost them 20 seconds to get back on the ball and down it

I’d like to know how many people would have the opposite opinion had it been a completed pass for a TD? Because LSU intercepted it should not factor into the play.

I am laughing way too much imagining your reaction and the mental gymnastics you must have done Sunday morning. Must have felt really strange.

i think he meant in real time.
as in if they blow the whistle when it happened, it would have burned more time off the clock than the way it happened.

He means on the field which would have taken way more than 10sec off the clock. More like 20-25 since their receivers were 20 yds down field

I see what your saying there with intent, and that’s something that should probably be factored into situations where something like that Is too close to call. As it is, if Mond picks up the football like a football player and not a woman who finds a dead lizard on her kitchen floor, it’s game over. Can’t remember seeing a player pick up a ball with such awkward lack of awareness. You send to extinctively want to keep knees and elbows away from the ground during a live play.
