Mr HBTT the reason our punt team is able to be sitting there on top of the return man is hang time which brings us back to Brad Wing. I am sure the kid from tech is deserving and I am glad for him.

Thank you for the question so we can start to get the record straight. The Dome’s height is 273 feet, almost one football field. LINK Ray Guy regularly could hit the Dome’s 90-foot-high video gondola LINK all the way back in 1976, and he thereby forced the groundskeeper to move the gondola all the way to 200 feet for the next Superbowl. LINK / Nobody will ever know how high Ray could have kicked. In 2009, the Titan’s A.J. Trapasso hit Jerry’s 90 foot screen. LINK Jerry was mad but stupid.

300ft != 300 yards.

kicking award update: Louisiana boasts the top two punters in America. Brad Wing first team AP All American team, Allen second team. Congratulations to both of these superb punters.

The AP 1st Team Punter of the Year, representative of the best punter in the country, is not a finalist for the Ray Guy Award. That makes sense.

When Wing punts he looks like a QB hitting the open man. He takes the snap, hesitates while his gunners get into position and then "passes" the ball to them with his football.

"the biggest snub in the history of professional football is the NFL's continued refusal to vote Ray Guy into the pro-football hall of fame."

Louisville has given up less return yards this yards

Total yards, yes. Average, no. LSU 0.35 yards. Louisville 0.42 yards. Both incredible.

If he was not misunderstood, then he needs to stop reading hiw own healines and stay focused on helping to win the game instead of some trophy for himself. He will not only learn humility but could then allow himself to have the best game of his career, which sure looks to become a record career.

props to LaTech.

Now, if it is true that the award is only for punters with a certain # of punts per game, then:

a. that explains it.
b. they need to change the criteria.
c. if they don't change the criteria, I hope he's not eligible next year, too.

Brad Wing made the AP All-Am team as a freshman. That's impressive enough.
