this reminds me of the 2011 NC game and how it changed for LSU

I think the same can be said for Bama last night. They wont recover from this and the west is now LSUs to take and dominate once again.

We have as much talent as they do coming back and have had just as good as a recruiting classes the past few years.

Times are changing. Its our time

Well they are landing their best recruiting class ever and are preseason #1 again next season.

I wouldn't count on Bama folding until Nick hangs it up

LOL

Bama just recruited another record-setting class. Once again, they will line up with the most talent of any team in the conference and nation, which is saying a lot.

Not to mention all the other advantages they hold within the SEC.

Bama isn't going anywhere.

You people don't realize the stranglehold those Gumps have on every aspect of this conference.

Nothing has changed. Alabama just got beat by a better team last night and that’s all there is to it. Y’all are crazy to think this one beat down will all of a sudden send the program on a downward trajectory with the amount of insane talent they have .

Unfortunately, Alabama isn’t 2nd to anyone in the SEC. Georgia is the closest to Alabama, yet Georgia couldn’t beat Alabama in the SEC championship game. After all Alabama was undefeated in our conference. As long as Saban is Coaching Alabama, they will remain at the top of the SEC especially in the West.

I agree but they quit last night. Did you ever think you would see a Saban led team just quit??? Saban didn't look right on the sideline. Something was off!

This is true.

However, the hallmark of successful people is to use failure and fix it. Saban is quite successful.

I'll put it this way, if Saban doesn't think he can fix it/avenge it, he'll hang it up. If he does, he'll rededicate himself as he does every year. He is a man who worries alot about his legacy and reputation. Last night might have added 3 yrs to his career.

And he'll be AD after he quits coaching to keep the recruiting connections/methods going.

If LSU can get an offense with a pulse and depth on the DL, then we can talk. Based on off-season talk thus far and the recruiting class... not there yet.

Hate to say it, but Alabama is going to be back in the playoffs again next year. They have a lot of key players returning plus #1 recruiting class coming in. And their schedule is soft. LSU should be their toughest game and they get it in Tuscaloosa. Their rotating SEC-E opponent is South Carolina. And their non-conference schedule is Duke, Southern Miss, New Mexico State, and Western Carolina. Only way Bama doesn't get in the playoffs next year is if LSU goes 12-0 and then loses to an 11-1 UF/UGA in the SECCG which would hopefully result in 2 SEC teams being ranked ahead of Bama by CFP.

That pissed off Saban will be 68 years old during next season. Alabama got outcoached last night for the first time in a very long time. Maybe he is losing his edge. The burn out has to come at some point.

quote:

“I just have a feeling that I didn’t do a very good job for our team, with our team, giving them the best opportunity to be successful,” Saban said. “I always feel that way, even sometimes when we win, I think there’s things we could do better or that I could have done better.

“But particularly in this case, never really ever got comfortable with what we needed to do to win this game, especially on defense, especially the matchups we had in our secondary versus their receivers.

That was something that was kind of bothering me going into the game, and as the game unfolded, it worked out that those matchups were a big difference in the game.”

didn't help them?!?! They went 14-1 and played for the national championship. If that's a down year, sign me up for that.

You remember once, maybe when you were a kid, maybe later, when you got a new dog, maybe a puppy, maybe just one younger than your older dog, and that new dog ran circles around the old dog, and the old dog just couldn't keep up?

That's how I felt about Saban last night.

Whatever else they have going for them, last night proved that they are not invincible.

We may or may not have all the pieces in place yet to compete with Alabama, but I do think we know the way forward.

Go Tigers..!
