Truly who is head and shoulders the clear cut best team in the sec next year ? Bama and Georgia have QB question marks, Tenn has massive holes at WR, Texas is very talented but also not consistently dominant.

I truly think it’s open next year and sets up perfectly for LSU to seize a playoff spot and make a run to the SEC championship.
We will be loaded at wr, super talented at rb, Trey’dez green at TE, deep and talented OL room, have a top 2 qb in the conference returning in Nuss, adding reinforcements to the Cb room, will be more atheltic at lb and have some talented puppies on the DL plus adding a healthy guillory to the DL.

If we can add some proven commodities to the safety room we are looking extremely extremely good.

Georgia has a qb question mark?

Stockton looked pretty good today. He is not why they lost. Give him a full camp with the 1's, and he might be a good one.

If Kelly can get his team to develop a killer instinct, I like our chances next year.

Georgia scored a total of 10 points & Stockton was 20/32 234 yds 1 TD. Those are very pedestrian numbers.

Next season is definitely the season with Nuss's senior year. Anything less than a playoff bid would be a failure.

The thread is about the outlook of the SEC next season. What about Stockton's performance tonight should give anyone a warm & fuzzy feeling for UGA next year.

Right & last I checked it was Carson Beck who got them to CFP, not Stockton.

His offensive line didn’t give him a lot of time. They were arse.

That’s exactly my point. Was that his first start?

Yes it is wide open next year. We should be at or near the top of the league with UGA, Texas, and SC (if theyre actually that good is tbd). No excuses, we should be in the playoffs.

LSU schedule certainly helps. Don’t play Georgia, Texas, Tennessee.

If you can't see that the kid is going to be really good with a very big and live arm, then I can't help you. He was starting his first game correct? He also had a couple of HUGE plays where his rec dropped an easy pass.

Beck was never all that. Had they had the experience of Beck, they may have won...but this kid appears to have more upside than Beck.

Without having looked too detailed Texas would appear to be the early favorite. Manning has experience and has looked good.

Uga will be talented. I’m sure bama will reload but maybe take a step back. A&M is likely better and they were near top this year. Florida will be better.

OU won’t be at the top but they will be a spoiler ro someone’s season (like we effectively kept ole miss and South Carolina from making the playoffs)

In summary - maybe less top 5 teams than usual but about 10 teams could be top 20 level.

Agree. Considering the stage, making his first career start, and a suspect OL, he performed about as well as anyone on the UGA side could have hoped for.

Georgia will be good but there roster isn’t near head and shoulders better then LSU’s like the last few seasons and can make an argument it’s even with lsu having a more proven QB and certainly at wide receiver. They are also losing 3-4 o lineman I believe

In his defense, the first start of his college career was yesterday. He has had 1 week as qb1.

I’ll go a step further and say CFB is wide open next year. The Ohio State defense is losing 8 defensive starters alone and those are just seniors/grads and not counting juniors who will declare. Plus, their qb is a grad transfer. Oregon is losing 16 starters who are seniors/grads, not counting juniors who will declare. Ole Piss will basically have a new roster since 17 of their starters are gone. Bama new qb and depleted roster. Notre Dame will be good again, they’re losing that qb but I don’t think he’s that hard to replace. UGA is losing some pieces but they’ve been playing a lot of young players. I think the SEC is UGA, Texas, and LSU, while nationally maybe something like those 2 with Penn State, Notre Dame, and yes Clemson. I’m not sure people realize how old Ohio State and Oregon are. They will have basically new starting lineups with new qbs. That’s hard to handle even for them.

No. We need to make a run, not just get in. And we need to get in as either a host or a bye.

No one is dominant. UGA looked like trash yesterday. So did A&M and bama. LSU, Mizzou and OM looked better. S. Carolina choked, and UT tried to. UT is the only hope we have.

Overall SEC did not do well.

He did. I can't believe how bad UGA receivers are. We may have had some drop issues with our receivers, but UGA was horrible and has been all season. It wasn't so long ago they were blaming Hankton for their receiver issues.
