Going UNDEFEATED after a 6-6 season, something that didnt even come close to happeneing with the best talent that this school has ever seen under Miles' watch.

Pretty sure Miles went 10-1 in the regular season in 2005. LSU was a play away from being 11-0 that year.

I have a feeling the fall back to Earth for a lot of these posters in this thread is going to be long and hard. Bama has elipsed LSU and shows no signs of slowing down. They will win both the West and the SEC championship this year. Of that I don't have much doubt. Of course, I hope I am 100% wrong about that.

I disagree. I thought sure that he would kick arse at Bama, and I was pissed that he was there.

You think it will matter? He always loses assistants yet always fields a strong team. Miles on the other hand, is only as good as his coordinators.

RE: The decline of LSU naysayers.

How may other teams would love to have declined to a 5-1 record.

A lot of them!

This is a moronic, inapposite thread.

Nick Saban and Alabama did not account for LSU's woes last season.

The only thing that matter is how LSU plays, how LSU coaches, how LSU recruits. Saban and Bama are red herrings.

Guess who LSU plays this weekend? Auburn!

Let's focus on that.

I think most people on this board would admit that when Saban finally landed at Bama they were (1) angry, and (2) certain that he could not attain the level of success at Bama that he did at LSU.

who in the world thought that? certainly not most posters on here.

Yeah, well, Bama's offense has looked like a pile of three day old dog shite the last two games.

Then what would you call LSUs offense?

Ever heard of Mark Ingram?

Bama lost 2 of the top OL in the NATION off last years team and a 3rd starter. Go check out bama's rush offense so far this season. Compare it to ours, a team who lost 2 starters nowhere near the talent of smith and caldwell.

It's freaking Auburn week and many of our fans are still in the fetal position crying over a prostitute that showed them a good time 6 years ago...what a damn shame.

Agree, except for one thing. "Fans" isn't a term I'd use to describe the whining, self-absorbed children of all ages that aren't happy unless LSU is winning every game by at least 7 touchdowns. There are lots of those posters on here. but "fans"? Not so much.

nice points Doc... The shift has obviously begun to take place with Bama going 12-0 last year in the regular season and winning the West.. Recruiting will be a battle with BAMA year in and year out, both schools have top 5 recruiting clases each year. It boils down to coaching after that, anyone at a major SEC School can pull in heralded 5 star recruits but its how you develop them. (Example Charlie Weis vs. Pete Carrol) Carrol seems to develop 5star athlete's to reach their full potential while Weis's players seem to remain mediocre and not reach their maximum potential.

That's were the difference is made and that's why you see BAMA dominating and us getting by. If Saban had this LSU team I believe we would still be unbeaten and sitting at #2 in the BCS. Thinking with my head not with my heart

I will repeat one of my questions that seems to have been lost in the shuffle...

Will Saban have better success at Bama than he did at LSU? He has yet to win the SEC, much less multiple SEC crowns and a national title.

Until I see otherwise, I believe that the first SEC crown and national title will come this year. I also believe there is a decent chance that Bama is better next year than this year.

I never thought it could happen and am still not convinced that it will happen, but in my opinion, Saban is building a program in the SEC that could rival what Florida State did in the ACC in the 1990s. I realize that is a huge statement and I know the SEC is far tougher than the old ACC, but I could foresee him running a decade and finishing in the top 5 in the nation that majority of the time (maybe 7 or 8 out of 10 years).

I watched the one last week and IF those cocks(Garcia) doesn't throw an int that gets returned 77 yards one minute into the game I think the outcome may have been a little different. Hell, carolina was still in that game till halfway through the 4th quarter. Didn't look like the #1 team in the nation to me. Ingram is the real deal and don't get me wrong bama is a solid team and will be favored from here on out. Stop the run and you stop bama's offense (I know easier said than done). But I'll wear my purple & gold glasses and keep the faith!

Don't like looking ahead especially with Auburn this week! But you know that nov 7th game gets circled on everyones calendar at the beginning of the year!

And my first post in this thread agrees with this.

It has nothing to do with saban bringing bama up. It falls on LSU's players/coaches shoulders.

Someone needs to create a new entry in DMS IV: Sabania Pathologica.

Our fans are conceding entire decades now! It;s crazy.

IMO yes, he will be at bama longer than he was at LSU. He has no aspirations for the NFL in the back of his mind.

He is %100 focused on winning national championships at alabama.

Replace "LSU" with "Auburn" and then your post makes sense. LSU can continue to be successful depending upon what LSU's coach does--not in relation to what Alabama's coach does, except for one game a year. We hardly even vie for many of the same recruits.
