i do not think anyone can make the case that Miles can keep up with Saban or Meyers. My problem is that I do not think he can even keep up with Petrino, Nutt, Kiffin or Richt Hope I am wrong.

Has the rise of the Tide with Saban pushed LSU down a rung or two, and if so, will LSU be able to overcome it?

Not with Lester Miles leading the way.

That "tough conference" does not seem to be phasing that red and white team a couple states to our East. Going UNDEFEATED after a 6-6 season, something that didnt even come close to happeneing with the best talent that this school has ever seen under Miles' watch. Not to mention, that team could be well on thier way to going undefeated again this season. They dont seem to be worried about a tough conference.

No decline? 7-5 last season. Lackluster performes this whole year, as well as an offense ranked in the 100s. Seems like a slight decline to me.

Last year was obviously unacceptable.

However, some of you are not only conceding this year's unplayed Bama game, you are also conceding the remainder of the games we play in 2009, the 2010 season, and apparently the whole of the next decade.

That's a bit premature.

Many would argue that we should be 2-0.

Many would also argue that Miles could be 0-2 versus Saban.

I don't see Saban winning an SEC Champ at bama anytime soon. I still think LSU wins the west and gets another chance to play Florida again! No decline here!

I think if you can consistently stay in the top 15 in college football, you are not on the decline. When we start falling out of the top 25, I would consider it on the decline.

It's freaking Auburn week and many of our fans are still in the fetal position crying over a prostitute that showed them a good time 6 years ago...what a damn shame.

I have a lot of respect for Saban and what he brings to the table. I absolutely LOVE his mindset of focusing on the process of being good, not on the end result. The end result will take care of itself.

That being said, Saban is like any coach. After a while their "Message" gets stale if they stay in one place for 5+ years. Everyone in the program (fans, coaches, media) start to tune them out. There are many examples of this phenomenon.

That's why I think this statement below is premature. I still think Saban will make another move before retirement.

quote:

Furthermore, all signs indicate, much to the LSU fanbase dismay, that Saban has no intentions of leaving Bama until retirement.

I've seen them struggle with Kentucky, not be able to score at TD against Ole Miss and have 4 turnovers and 10 penalties vs. USCe. They are a very good football team, but they're not invincible. Their lack of a passing game, at this point, is an issue, although their defense is strong enough that Saban can protect that part of the game. If LSU can find anything resembling decent QB play, we have a good shot at beating them.

EXACTLY. If we beat Auburn, we can settle this on the field in Tuscaloosa.

Let's hammer Auburn in Tiger Stadium this weekend. It's all that matters.

What qualifies someone as a Sabanistas? Someone who will admit in public that Saban is a great coach?

Yeah, well, Bama's offense has looked like a pile of three day old dogshit the last two games.
