Lets put some perspective on this.

The removal of Les is considered one of the greatest LSU sports moments of his life.

Not beating overall #1 seed Duke
Not clinching a final four bid
Not Louis Coleman closing out the CWS
Not the Warren Morris walk off to win the CWS
Not beating number 1 UF in 97 and tearing down the goal posts
Not rising up to knock off the Rose bowl and National championship bound sec behemoth at the time Tennessee to win the first SEC championship in over a decade
Not winning the NC in New Orleans in 2003
Not the chaos bound NC in 2007
Not winning the game of the century in Tuscaloosa
Not winning every single game this past season while watching the greatest offense of all time

This is but a short list of major fairly recent things. I could go on and on.

What kind of negative life viewpoint do you have to have where a guy getting fired registers as one of the greatest LSU sports moments? Did he need to get fired yes. At the same time it is nowhere close to a "great" lsu sports moment

Can laugh about it now but that Wisconsin game was so bad. All offseason promising to update the offense and rolls out the same old school running game.

I think he was a good head coach at LSU but the modern game had passed him by and he wasn’t willing to adapt. Literally, all he had to do was bring in someone to run a modern day offense and he would still be coaching here. He never really gave a good answer as to why he wouldn’t. Loyalty to Cam Cameron is not the hill you want to die on.

You trashed O almost everyday after he took over in 2016. That is fact. And then all of a sudden while last year was going on you started supporting him.... that’s another fact.

Not at all.... it’s a fact that you defended Miles and bashed O all time time after the change.... nobody was happy after the Miss St. game and the Troy game but you took your bashing to an even higher level. And it continued till after the Texas game last year. You and Ricky daddy must be related. But at least you show up these days. He ran off the the pussy he really is....

Wrong. I praised him after the Auburn and UGA games for sure in 2018. You just spew whatever bullshite you need to to continue to whine about my past posts regardless of what I actually said.

No he won with Joe Burrow and a completely new offense.
Plus who was the main recruiter starting in 2014?

Les was a great head coach. I would go as far to say that as of right now, he was the best football coach LSU has ever had, with the caveat that O is in prime position to usurp that title very soon (you could obviously argue he already did long ago depending on how you quantify what the “best” coach is)

The game passed him by and he couldn’t adapt to the new style of offense. He made some really questionable game time decisions at points. He was deeply flawed. Despite all of that, he could recruit, lead, and coach with the best of them for most of his tenure at LSU.

I’ll always respect the man even if the popular opinion of half of the Rant is to hate him with a passion. He built upon the success that the previous two coaches had laid the foundation for, and was asked to leave in time for O to get his bearings and really excel, culminating in our latest national championship campaign. He left us with grace, and was still an ambassador to the program until he found his new job at Kansas. He hasn’t ever said anything bad about LSU or his time here, and considering everything that went down, that speaks volumes to his character.

That’s the hill I will die on. Just my two cents.

The way he handled playing time at the end of 11 and the way he acted like a little bitch to prove he was the HNIC was not would I would call a leader of men.

I lost all respect for him at that point. I did not care for him much before that because his understanding of Xs and Os was very limited.

I'll say this, he had a great season but he needs to have more than one

so, you still on the fence about CEO?
how many seasons of football before you decide if the CEO hire was a good decision?

if LSU averages a 10-2 season with at least one more natty for the next decade would you still support him or cut him loose?

i realize the vast amount of variables to such a question but given what has transpired since the hire why not give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Pretty sad seeing how LSU has won multiple national championships in multiple sports with multiple #1 picks and season awards over the last few decades.

Nick Saban is the best coach LSU football has ever had...
Saban in five seasons was 48-16.
Coach Ed Orgeron in four seasons went 40-9.

Shows a lot about this board and how unappreciative a lot of you are.

it appears you are 'unappreciative' as well. no love for CEO?

Coach Ed Orgeron is an excellent coach and recruits as well as any head coach in the country.
it turns out he was the best fit for the head coach job by a long shot.

of course history will have the final say.
