What are we looking at--2019 or 2020 before we are competitive again?

Right, and the whole point of this coaching change was to prevent a wholesale rebuild.

Oh well. I just hope the recruiting keeps this team competive over the next 2-3 years...

Is this truly now escalating from he "this year is a rebuilding year, we will win the SEC next year"

to a

" next year we lose to much and have inexperience at QB and RB, we won't be ready until 2019"

That's the common theme now. This started a couple weeks ago and now it's burning out of control.

This has to be a dream scenario from a new coach to inherit a program like the staff did this year

Talent level easily a top 10-15

They were not taking over a dumpster fire, they inherited a program with consistent top ten recruiting classes. It should not take 3 years to compete for a national title much less a conference title.

The entire point of this hire and system is smooth transition and to compete right away. The only reason we heard rebuild was due to Troy and MSU. If it wasn't for that, its never a discussion today

I believe LSU will need both Brennan and Narcisse in the the 2018 season.

Let those guys battle it out in spring football to determine who should start.

I would both gets reps during practices next season.

I am willing to bet that Narcisse will end up being our QB. This is CFB, you need a mobile QB to win.

Hopefully the direction will change to really open up the QB competition and give Narcisse and others the opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities.LSU needs a good dual threat QB.

Players from last year who start in the NFL this year:
Jamal Adams @TheAdams_era 2014-16 NYJ S W6: Started.
Kendell Beckwith 2013-16 TAM LB W6: Started.
Leonard Fournette @_fournette 2014-16 JAX RB W6: Started.
Duke Riley @1Goal1Dream 2013-16 ATL LB W6: Started
Tre'Davious White @TreWhite16 2013-16 BUF CB W6: Bye but is a starter

Davon Godchaux - have seen where he is backing up Ndamukong Suh and have seen him listed as a starter opposite of Suh. Don't watch the Dolphins and don't know if he starts or not.

AND:

* Twenty-one Tigers have earned starts for the first time so far this season:

DE Ed Alexander, Sophomore
RB Nick Brossette, Junior
OG Garrett Brumfield, Junior
TE/F Tory Carter, True freshman
RG Saahdiq Charles, True freshman
LB K'Lavon Chaisson, True freshman
WR Drake Davis, Sophomore
S Grant Delpit, True freshman
WR Derrick Dillon, Sophomore
OL Ed Ingram, True freshman
DE Rashard Lawrence, Sophomore
DE Glen Logan, RS Freshman
OL Adrian Magee, Sophomore
S Eric Monroe, RS Freshman
TE Jamal Pettigrew, RS Freshman
WR JaCoby Stevens, True freshman
WR Stephen Sullivan, Sophomore
LB Tyler Taylor, True freshman
Nickel Kary Vincent Jr., True freshman
CB Andraez Williams, RS Freshman
LB Devin White, Sophomore

8 True Freshmen
4 RS Freshmen
7 Sophomores
2 Juniors

Definitely top 10-15 talent level. Everyone knew the true and RS freshmen would be top 10 type players.

Who is it that actually makes LSU be in the top 15 of talent in college football? Guice, Key, Etling, Williams? Do 2 or three players qualify for top 15 billing?

LSU always has been and still is the biggest SEC West threat to Bama. Saban acknowledges that by scheduling the bye week before the LSU game every year.

After last night, I do feel like the gap is closing between us and Bama. As Danielson said, it just felt different.

The roster......

Open your eyes, we have talent sprinkled everywhere

LSU has a lot of talent eveywhere, sure we may be thin in some areas but talent isn't a problem for this team.

Those aren't all the starters

Whats funny is halfway throuh the season we have people sayin all these players suck and have no talent

Then after Bama, its " they are so talented and we have a bright future"

What the hell is it????

Its back and forth whenever its convenient

No, but like the headline from LSU's website that was posted right above the list SAYS - "* Twenty-one Tigers have earned starts for the first time so far this season:"

quote:

Yeah, I'm just having trouble coming up with enough to declare LSU having top 10-15 talent. I come up with Guice and a couple others and that's it. Two or three players does not make for top 10 talent level. Do you have any in mind you would like to share?

quote:

Then after Bama, its " they are so talented and we have a bright future"

I think it is as much about the experience that the young players have received. I don't think a team can expect to start 8 true freshmen during the first 8 games and win the SEC and national championships.

quote:

What the hell is it????

Name some of the players that you heard "suck". I'll tell you my opinion of "What the hell is it????"

quote:

Its back and forth whenever its convenient

Having to start 8 true freshmen and another four RS freshmen is a fact and it is not convenient. What back and forth are you talking about?

Don't get many math terms - "point of inflection" - on here....whatever...we'll see.....LSU played hard...but.....whether it's a "turning point" is TBD.....

If we “turned a corner,” dumbass, we turned the corner from the absolute train wreck Orgeron was going to make out of this season until Alleva ordered him to stay out of the way and let the coordinators coach their units.

What did we turn the corner to? Well, if Orgeron wins out, he’ll have the same type of season that got Miles fired.

So tell me again ... why the frick did we hire Orgeron?
