This needs to stop immediately! So indicative of this generations selfishness.

Selfishness? So if they get hurt and lose millions, that's noble?

Unless the NFL starts to view it as indicative of the players heart/chest/etc, it will only increase

If it was the CFP with something in play, I’d understand the angst.

For a show bowl, nope. I totally expect a top 1-15 pick to sit out. Let the up and coming get the stage.

You really thought we needed another thread on this? Couldn't just put this in one of the other 10 threads?

If I was a guaranteed first round pick and the team wasn't competing for a title, I would sit out too.

NFL sees it as protecting investments......unless it’s the CFP. Again, with something still on the table.

So why play in any games once out of playoff contention?

The NFL doesn't care as long as you're productive. They'll race to hire spousal abusers... Really think they care about sitting out a bowl game?

Here is something you definitely won't like:

As soon as LSU was eliminated from CFB playoff contention, I would have sat out if I was an NFL draft pick.

Games like the one last Saturday against aTm, while entertaining, could put your health/wealth in danger. Think I want to risk millions while playing a game like the one Saturday where I watch incompetence by SEC officials potentially compromise my career? Hell no.

At least if I am watching a BS game on the sidelines or on the field in an NFL game, I'm getting paid.

Like I said, expect more of this as CFB continues to make it obvious during the regular season which teams it is protecting.

Oh yay. Another thread. Can’t you baws just get together after your shift is over and reminisce about what great players you were in high and bitch about greedy over some beers?

And all coaches should full fill their contracts and not leave for promotions. At the same time schools shouldn't be able to fire coaches before contract terms are full filled

So do these threads

While I agree, there were threads you could have chimed in on.

Also, you seem to be a victim of the "look at me" generation

Or just make games meaningful. That’s on LSU.

Lloyd's of London has policies for this. Smart players get a policy. Premiums are deferred until player gets paid or the policy pays out.

The fans that complain are selfish as well. He doesn’t owe anyone of us a damn thing. Football at this level is a business and to think any different is just being naive.

Agreed. Commitment is bilateral between school and athletes.

Come on the guy is about to sign a contract worth $30 million any person who risk that for a regular bowl game would be crazy. Get off your high horse that is life changing money for him and his family. No one can blame him.
