I would semi-agree if it was a December bowl.

A NY6 bowl is a huge stage.

frick that.

Why should guys risk millions of dollars for a meaningless game?

If you aren't in the playoff, the bowl game is great for one reason - you get three extra weeks of practice to start implementing schemes and players for next year. 1st rounders who sit out of meaningless bowl games are actually doing their programs a favor by not taking away reps from the guys who will be there next year.

Your tax dollars are not going toward any LSU athlete’s scholarship.

This is the part that bothers me more than the player not playing. Who decided that a NY6 Bowl game was meaningless? Sure you won’t win the NC, but it has huge implications on the final rankings. NY6 is a big stage to be on, this isn’t the belks bowl or Independence bowl. Getting a NY6 bowl is a big compliment to a great season.

They're all rewards for your regular season. Winning or losing the bowl game doesn't chance your season. The most important part about a bowl game is the extra practice it allows for your team. That's the only thing that is important for LSU, and if Greedy isn't there, that allows more reps for guys who will be here next year.

ETA - I see Antonio Moss covered this already.

It is not fair to the common working man to spend hundreds of dollars to bring his family to a bowl game to watch the second string play.

However if they are not going to show some integrity, grit , and backbone I don’t care to watch them play in the first place!!

Nobody is forcing you to go.

I’m taking it you don’t have s Anson tickets to the Saints either.

Guess what they do. They make you pay for the pre season games as well as regular season to get season tickets. Guess who doesn’t play in pre season games.

No shite but he brings up a valid point. Then when the fans don't travel well to the bowl games, you silly fuqs will be whining about not supporting the team.

A lack of integrity? Seriously?

The ONLY people upset by these moves are fans. That's it, and he owes nothing to the fans.

I actually want to do away with all these bowl games. 8 team playoffs. 5 conference champs and 3 at large. That’s it. No more “Don’s Small Engine Repair: Torque Wrench Bowl”.
