When you have LF7, would you not trust your team to get a yard?

Wisconsin had 11 men lined up to stop LF7!

There was never a threat of a pass or BH6 running the ball.

How is it Saban is so lucky with quarterbacks and Miles is so unlucky?

I believed the deathbed conversion last Nov but I saw the conviction unraveling in the spring and completely gone by fall camp. What I saw yesterday did not surprise me at all. I was a Miles supporter until the three game swoon last season when I saw that today's game has passed Miles by...

With Les on the sideline on game day, wasn't that a waste of precious energy?

Maybe it was, maybe it's all a plot for him to take a dive and lose in this manner...

I was listening to XM radio sports station and heard this reporter going down the pre-season rankings. He got me kinda pissed because he was hard on the LSU ranking. Said they didn't deserve to be in the top 20 because of the antiquated offense Miles runs. Said, every year they are media darlings and get rankings off the name and talent. I was a bit upset. However, the first game of the season makes me feel like a fool for being a homer and disagreeing with the guy.

For me it was the first offensive play. Another damned toss dive.

Does any other college team even run the toss dive? I never see it.

man, you have 3rd and 1 and we have the best RB in the land. we damn sure should have made it with two tries; no matter what running play was called.

you blame Miles. frick that. it was the damn blockers fault. if our blockers (OL/TE/FB) cant open up a crease for a one yard run with two tries they are pathetic. I don't blame Miles for that decision. I blame Miles for fielding a shitty OL and allowing a shitty OL coach to keep his fricking job.

Easy Nuts,

I'm also a former registered Dem and if memory serves from your political posts.....

LoL

And I still like you! We all make mistakes and eventually come around. At least I can admit I was wrong.

Agreed. Good to see you've come around to the truth. Of course, on the "former" registered dem thing, I can only assume you've strayed from the correct course, but that's another discussion for another board.

He recruited them and coaches them. Hell, he was an OL, and ours is consistently crap. They used no creativity on either play call, and Wiscy knew exactly what we were doing. Why not fake a handoff to LF there, and roll BH out on a bootleg? They were selling out on an inside run, and we have it to them.

We are going to run the same 7 plays every game and we will never try anything else. We have a Super Tecmo Bowl play book.
Super Tecmo has eight plays, so it's actually more sophisticated than LSU's offense.

I agree we should have used deception there, esp on 3rd down (still could have punted if we lost yds). it was another shitty arse play call. my only point was, as long as no one jumps off side we should have made the one yd over 2 plays even if we told them the fricking play in advance.

Felt the same. I was in the stadium. What pissed me off the most was we called a timeout to run that play. Tells me all i need to know about this staff. I have no issues going for it but if your going to run it have the fricking play ready to go for a hurry up snap. Its football 101. Good coaches are thinking about the next play. Les is still trying to figure out 1st down when the 3rd down marker is set. We're fricked.

This will be one of the most talented football teams we will ever have.

Middle of the pack SEC o-line, mediocre QB, overrated WR's, thin d-line. It's the typical Tiger team: 2-3 elite players and a bunch of ordinary or overrated ones.

We're to Bama what Wisconsin is to Ohio St.

Our offense looked like shite and our defense was starting to gel. Punt the ball and go into halftime down 3-0 and receiving the ball in the 2nd half. No point there to go for that. We lost by 2 by the way.

Nothing was ever going to change, wont change the next game

Fullback
Tight end
facing 8 defenders in the box
short pass plays to the sideline
occasional long pass
1 attempt per game to the tight end
toss dive here and there
run up the middle
a few runs to outside of tackles
PANIC in the eyes of our QB
nervous hand scratch in the post game presser

Les wanted to show LSU fans he is the coach and would coach the team his way. I never for a second believed the offense would change. DID YOU??

Hopefully we win 8 games this year and keep our recruits.

That was a typical Miles blunder.

LSU had what, 40 yards at that point? And they risk a turnover on the unlikely possibility that they double their yardage and get points in a minute? Just imagine the clock mismanagement that would have ensued had they picked up the first down.

Predictably, they got stuffed and gifted Wisconsin 3 more points, WHICH ULTIMATELY PROVED THE WINNING MARGIN.

You punt the ball and let Wisconsin run out the clock and go in down 3-0 and regroup. Heck, they were somewhat fortunate they didn't throw a pick 6 on the last play of the half trying to pick up a meaningless 20 yards as the clock expired.

Down 3-0 at halftime is NOTHING.

Miles has pulled this crap so many times it is staggering, and he has never learned a damn thing from any of it. He is a buffoon.

. I was all for going for it.

Wrong answer. We were getting our asses handed to us And we're lucky to be down 3 instead of 20. Even if we get it we still don't score. They were stoning us on short yardage. Not converting was handing them 3 points the way they were moving the ball and a damned good chance they would get 7. Going for it there was absolute stupidity. Instead of escaping into halftime with a three point deficit we let them build the lead and momentum. Punt it and chances are you get into halftime down only 3.
