Tennessee was ranked 11 in 2000 ... not in the top 10.

I think they were #11 in one poll and #10 in the other.

If one play actually could change a whole program, this would be it.

being on the field after that game was great

How have the times changed! Our fans stormed the field that year after beating a 3-8 team. We got excited over anything back then. Now our fans b*tch over how we beat top five teams. I don't think the nega tigers were with us back then or through the 90's. They would have hung themselves.

Love that!!

But I would still have to give this title to the int to end the game against AU in '95. The game Gerry brought the magic back.

Even though there was a steep decline toward the end of the Dinardo era, without him we prob don't get Saban, Miles, two MNC's, etc.

I just posted another video in the original post. It includes "the play" - your link skips it.

As was I..in the SEZ. When the int happened, no one knew what had occurred at first because it was a fade route and both the receiver and defender went up for it. Everyone went silent. The the NEZ went nuts when they saw that LSU (can't recall who the DB was) came up with it..then pandemonium ensued.

That was a great play. For me, though, I knew the Tigers were "back" when they stopped getting stuffed on 4th downs. It seemed like years that we couldn't get a couple yards on fourth down, then they turned it around. I went from wishing they'd never even try a 4th down play to wishing they'd go for it more often, lol.

I feel like that bomb to Skyler Green vs. UGA that gave us the win kinda cemented that we had stepped into the realm of the elite.

Wow. What a great game, and I have to say that I had given short shrift in my memory to the last drive in regulation time. I remembered a long FG being blocked, but I did not recall how much work had been done to try for the win in OT, and the kick was not as long as I remembered.

Oh yeah, I heart me some Rohan Davey.

I was just thinking about that tenn game the other day, "who was that guy who ran by our db's all night?" Then the picture of the back of kelly washingtons Jersey flashed in my head, "shite" was my next thought. Burned LSU on the sidelines all night.

Same game, different play...

The 74-yard Lebrandon Toefield TD run.

Right after that run, which ignited Tiger Stadium, I said, "That's the kind of play big-time programs make". And it was.
