The play of the game was a "simple" 10 yard pass

I use simple in the sense that we had far more explosive plays in the game. However, to me, this was the most crucial play of the game.

3rd and 10 early 4th Quarter, around midfield. We had been shut out so far in the second half and Bama had cut the lead to 6 and had all the momentum, looking to force a punt and get the ball back with a chance to take the lead. Pressure comes up the middle and Burrow has to dump it off to CEH in the flat near the sideline. The throw is low and CEH has to make a scooping shoe string catch. Then he makes a quick gathering move by the sideline to cut back in bounds and head up field. He is contacted by the defender but drives himself another 2-3 yards to get the first down.

A rather unspectacular play given everything else we saw last night, but that saved the game in my mind. It was an incredible effort play by CEH that was able to continue the drive and lead to our first second half TD. If he doesn't make that, I honestly don't think we win the game. Bama would likely score and take their first lead of the game in the 4th, crowd in a frenzy having completed a 20 point comeback, and could be a mental backbreaker.

But it didn't happen, CEH is an LSU legend in my book

That fake QB draw then pass to Chase was pretty sick

I agree. Thought the same thing. CEH was always getting yards after contact

CEH played a great game, played with fierce determination. Couldn’t have won without him.

I agree. Great game by CEH and Burrow.
I was also pleased with the OL as it has felt like they were manhandled by bama every year the past few years. This was much better.

So many good plays...I think it was #3 behind the last Burrow draw and Clyde's last TD.

But my arse exploded off the couch when he made the bulldoze of two Bamas.

Good problem to have when it's tough to choose.

What a fricking game

I agree 100% about that dump off to CEH.

It was a standout play given the situation, that really killed Bama’s momentum. This game was full of our players just finally making plays. There were so many massive plays that our team converted and it was such a joy to watch.

My biggest knock on our team this year is for some reason we have opportunities to drive a dagger in the heart of good teams starting the 3rd qtr and we NEVER seem to score when we get the ball to start the second half.

I just don’t know if I’d be able to enjoy the sport anymore iif we had lost to Bama with our best qb in school history.

Diggs for Bama got picked on all game. Joe stood in a took a shot after that throw. Thought we got this game after that play

No doubt in my mind that if CEH doesn’t make that play we lose. Bama had all the momentum and our offense kept stalling in the second half and he single handedly willed himself to get that first. Incredible play

I thought they were going to flag Chase for not being set. Crucial play that went in LSU’s favor.

Agreed - of all the sighs of relief I issued last night - that was the most deep felt.

Yup

Told the wife not to expect anything from me this morning. I'll be spending hours absorbing highlights, commentary, etc. from last night. Can't get enough of it.

I agree with the spirit of your post, but it was an absolutely incredible play that required exceptional athleticism and body control and straight up power by CEH.

Honestly that should go down one of the plays of the year
