Hoping one will drop to the Rangers as well ,but pretty sure both will be gone.

All I know about Pittsburgh is from the shooting scene in Jack Reacher.

Crews going 1-1 is as sure as the sun rises
Unfortunately for Crews and Pirates fans, this works out perfect for their existing model
He will be a relatively cheap replacement for Brian Reynolds, who they will deal for more cheap talent at the AS break
Bregman went 1-2 and Crews is Bregman with speed and power to all fields
Skenes will be top 5 and hopefully have a great career, but that is more of a risk than Crews

This aged poorly in the quickest, and frankly most unexpected fashion.
Reynolds, Cruz, Hayes, and Crews will be a long term core for the Pirates.

Yeah, about that

What happened?
Did the Pirates sign Reynolds long term?

Is there any precedent at all for drafting a player in MLB and having that player make the show that same season that was in progress when the draft took place?
Didn't Bob Horner go from Arizona State directly to the Braves?

Yeah, like within a couple hours of your post they gave him like $100MM over 8 years or something.

BTW, I agreed with your post (and said similar about Crews replacing Reynolds) because I did not think anything like that was coming.

Crews would fit more naturally in RF but Reynolds’s can also play in LF
He isn’t going to stop them for taking Dylan

Well, I'm happy for lifelong Pirates fans
I could see many LSU fans becoming Pirates fans in the same way that we have become Bengals fans
But I'm still shocked that ownership stepped up
And I agree with Lester that Crews ends up in RF, maybe even LF. He doesn't have a weak arm, but to his credit, all of his others tools are better
