The interception should have held. He barely touched the WR. That was such a chickenshit penalty. Especially when you consider how the refs were allowing both teams so much more contact than that. That play really pissed me off. I know, “let it go”, “we won who cares”, etc...

1. I agree.

2. Was that the PI that came out like 10 seconds after the play, or am I thinking of another one?

So was the OPI on Clemson that took away their TD. Both calls were BS.

Guess What? Doesn’t Matter!!!

LSU National Champions.

Enjoy!!

It was a bad call, maybe the score would have been more lopsided.

I don’t remember how fast or slow the flag came out. But Fulton intercepted a pass with almost no contact and it was called back.

Refs didn't bother me
They allowed contact by DB's for the most part
Didn't call holding on oline which I though Clemson got away with a few times, again, not complaining.
Did get LSU with the linemen down field which was the right calls.

Could have been far worse with SEC refs.

I disagree. He pulled his jersey and it shifted his momentum so much that it caused him to fall.

The OPI was a terrible call too, they were both bad calls basically offset one another.

The officials didn't end up being a factor in the outcome, but they flagged us for more penalties (11) than most SEC crews did over the course of the season. We had 30 yards in penalties on Clemson's scoring drive early in the 2nd half.

They were both tugging on each other's jerseys the back judge just happened to be at an angle he caught Higgins on the shoulder tugging and not Vincent tugging on Higgin's inside.

It was a bad call, no different really than the skeptical call on Fulton.

If both of those were PI they should have called 20 more PI that night, it was a physical game. On a few of Chase's catches you can clearly see him getting swatted/tugged at many times and it was never called.

When they showed the replay from the ref cam, you see Fulton snag it, then the ref throws the flag. Seemed too much like it was just to keep the game interesting.

Yeah it was a ticky tack flag. Ref said Fulton grabbed his jersey as he cut the receiver off and intercepted it. Fulton barely touched him and it didn’t impede the receiver at all.

Trade off for the OPI call against Higgins

I'm not so sure it did actually. Go back and watch the slow-mo replay. It looks like Vincent sees the ball coming and realizes it's a TD so he flopped to draw the flag. Higgins was definitely tugging on the jersey but not that hard. Huge heads up play by Vincent

Edit: here's a gif
