The 4th guy is the 4th guy because of the lack of production in his bat. I dont think 4th is DH, unless all are hitting 350 or higher.

Nothing is "locked in" until we're almost finished with SEC play.

Well our 4th OF hit .667 with a HR and 7 RBI this weekend while DHing.

The other three, who are all better defensively hit .400, .375, and .364

The 4th guy DHs. Larson is the best player but he’s dead set on playing Pearson. And Frey will get ABs because he is the lone RH on the bench with experience

this

brown is your best arm and has really really good speed and can hit.

Sure wish Frey would’ve developed as a catcher….

But if he had, would he be the clear cut starter this year?
I think he’s our starting 1B next year

Based on what? Looking the part? If Frey was 6’1” instead of 6’5” I don’t even know that he would be in this current outfield conversation. His production has been mediocre at best and I haven’t even really been impressed with his quality of at bat through 2 years.

The OF will work itself out in due time. There will be an injury or two at some point that forces decisions to be made. The good thing this year is that we are absolutely stacked at all positions, so the injury bug won't sting as much when it does bite.

Not sold on Frey. He hasn’t proven he can hit well enough to be an everyday player at this level. Not in a Jay Johnson lineup at least.

Out of the big 6, Frey seems to be the first one out

Don't be so quick. Of the 6 you are counting on, 5 bat from the wrong side of the plate. Frey and Stanfield are the only right handed hitters and Jay loves a balanced lineup. Frey also has more power potential than anyone else in the rotation.

Frey will get a lot of play against lefties, IMO - either as an OF or DH.

I predict Larson will be in top 3 batting average for outfielders this year.

Larson all day over Brown. Yall act like Brown is some defensive phenom. He's had his moments in the outfield. Larson hasn't made a single error in the outfield and gets to every ball Brown can. He has a better fielding %, better batting avg overall and in SEC play(led the team), better ob% and almost the same slugging %. He continues to outshine Brown to start the year. Larson is a better player all around imo. To add insult to injury he has never been caught stealing. 6 for 6

Potential is meaningless when you have shown you can't hit. He's had over 80 AB's in his career and hasn't shown a lick of power with a career slugging % under .300. He has 4 doubles in his career. I know he was hurt a little bit but more talented players have passed him up permanently

Why try and pencil anyone in as “must be in the lineup everyday” after one weekend series facing 85mph. Stan, Derek, Brown, Larson and Pearson all had good weekends. Sit back and enjoy the competition and watch the wins roll in.

don't have hometown boy bias...cause that's what it sounds like. He is right. Brown is great athlete but Ashton is just more dependable.

and at some point you have to accept that and move on. Great teammate I am sure but those ABs could be going further down the line
