all baseball teams at all levels tries to steal signs. It is why the catcher does the sign between his legs and just does not hold up fingers for all to see.

I know this and anyone that follows baseball knows this but there are a lot of people that don’t understand this and just hear the term “stealing signs” and thinks it is way worse than what it really is.

There are a lot of similarities between this and the Saints bountygate. Everyone is doing it a certain team got caught publicly and the league had to make an example of them and then everyone moved on. The same will happen with this incident.

Glad it happened to him and that this will be his MLB legacy

What do you have against Bregman? One of the best SS to wear purple and gold and he loves LSU.

So punish them for breaking the video equipment rule and move the frick on.

The thing about it is that it was not a written rule when the Astros did this. It is now because the MLB knew teams were doing it and instituted the rule and started a delay of all feeds to the dugout and clubhouse starting in 2019.

Astros should have just said it was fake news and blamed the media.

I’m not denying it at all. I have zero doubt the Astros were doing this and they got caught. I am even fine with the punishments and I get why the MLB did it. My point is that it’s not that big of a deal because other teams were doing it and once this season starts people will move on from this for the most part.

It was pretty obvious they were cheating this year too. Did you not see game 5 of the ALDS against the Rays? They clearly used video to get signs off the starter. Crushed absolutely perfectly placed 98+ mph fastballs and nasty curveballs below the knees in the first inning. Rays changed signs, and they didn’t touch him again the rest of the game.

Corrected to Game 5 of the ALDS but the point still stands.

Every Other team was not:

-Putting inappropriate paid incentives (circumnavigating the salary caps) to intentionally injure other players.

-Using complex video systems to steal signs, of which, they're now all apologizing for (bec they got caught).

GTFOH with this nonsense.

I'm aware of that. The guy wasn't tipping his pitches. They had already stolen the signs from his previous appearance.

This just in:
quote:

Alex Bregman signed a 5 year / $100,000,000 contract with the Houston Astros, including a $10,000,000 signing bonus, $100,000,000 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $20,000,000. In 2020, Bregman will earn a base salary of $11,000,000, while carrying a total salary of $12,666,666.

What were you saying again...?

You say this with more certainty than it is possible for you to have

quote:

They had already stolen the signs from his previous appearance.

How did it go for them in that appearance? Did he get rocked then too (answer: no)? Or did they steal them but not act on the knowledge secretly knowing they would get to see him again later though there was no guarantee of a Game 5 (or even 4)? You're gonna have to come stronger than that

I have rooted for the Astros since i was a teenager. This whole thing is painful to watch. What makes it even more painful is how smug and hubris everyone is being all the way from Crane, to Hinch (even now), to Bregman, Altuve, all of them.
