The Omaha organist is cool and has a sense of humor.

Last night, batter fouls a ball off his foot. The organist plays “I am my own worst enemy.” Then, TN player gets hit by pitch, umps look at replay and organist plays “Lean on me.”

Today, pitcher checks the runner at first, twice in a row. Plays “oops I did it again.”

Wish I had paid attention sooner.

The box needs the organ back imo. Should be an SEC rule to have one

Every mound visit involved a song about friends.

They played Jordy's walk up song during one of his at bats last night.

I have caught a few funny ones through out the tournament

Really? I’ve seen the cubs guy on Instagram. He likes to play “Tequila” at wrigley & I’ve heard that a few times.

Yes, it’s the same guy LINK

He is no novice. They imported him from the Chicago Cubs.

Chicago Cubs organist takes on role for 2023 Men's College World Series

John Benedeck is usually playing the organ for Cubs fans at Wrigley Field.

"I live in Chicago, but I'll be here for the whole two weeks. The trek, the double headers for a whole week. So this will be fun," Benedeck said.

A lifelong baseball fan, he's ready for first pitch.

"I just want games, man. Let's get the games going," he said.

Benedeck says you can expect musical style with personality.

"I try to be as kind and sarcastic at the same time if that's possible," he said.

He's already impressed by the home of the CWS.

This is the mecca," he said.

And understanding the job of an organist may be a little inside baseball.

"It's not a timed game, it's not this constant action. It's hurry up and wait. So I'll play a little something, and then I've got time to watch the game a little bit and contribute to the fandom of it cause I love baseball on top of the organ," he said.

Benedeck says he already wouldn't mind another trip to Omaha next year.

My cousin (actually, 2nd cousin) played the organ for LSU baseball back in the 90's. He did stuff like this.

One time, for a regional game, the umps made a terrible call. They were convening to discuss it, and he played "Three Blind Mice." Since he was not supposed to be "biased" in his playing, the umps had him ejected.

As he was walking out, the crowd all turned to him and gave him a standing ovation, full of cheers and yells.
lol Cool times.

Yeah, I know.. csb. But it was! I miss the live organist at our games.

Dear Mr./Mrs. Omaha Organist,

Every time Wake's Lucas Costello takes his hat off tonight, you know what to do...

PS: "Neck" or we riot!

Needs to play the “Get Gordon, and Get It Done” tune to reverse the Todd Graves bad juju from ruining the Jello Shot challenge right before our game against Wake on Monday.
