I feel like although the stats are bad, the offense just gets it done when it needs to get done. That’s why to me at least, it doesn’t seem as bad as previous years despite the poor numbers.

Yeah, so far they've moved the ball enough when it mattered, but again, that's very difficult to sustain. We really need to find a rhythm in the next few weeks.

That's even coming out of the UF game where Harris made some plays and people thought he just might be turning the corner like Mett did after a few starts.

It all came crashing down.

No it doesn’t.

Please be careful about what you post. Anything remotely critical is being a negatiger and you aren’t being a real fan.

Just because the offense can’t and doesn’t move the ball with any consistency doesn’t mean anything. All that matters is we are 3-0.

The last thing they should be doing is bland offense again vs a live opponent.

The cat's out of the bag, no more reason to hide the offense. Run it, that's the only way to improve it.

SEC rank is a better indicator for offense because we play tough SEC teams. I will defend miles, canada and ensminger here in that we will never play in a NO defense league with everybody playing AIR RAID and getting gaudy national stats we will never match. however the YPP, PYPA and RYPA are very telling.

In the SEC:

Last in yards/play
Last in yards/game
Last in rushing yards/att
Last in rushing yards/gm
Last in passing yards/att
Last in passing yards/gm
Last in passer rating
Last in 3rd down conversions

No where to go but up from there.

Why is “we played 2 ranked opponents” and excuse for Offense but the defense seems to be doing fine?

The defense is a lot more experienced

On offense we installed a new offensive system and replaced our QB, RBs, WRs and shuffled the offensive line around

All the more reason to run it as much as possible.

True, but it's time to see some improvement over the next few weeks. If we're still terribly inefficient after week 6, we're in trouble.

Since 2016, LSU is on our second head coach and our third OC in an effort to improve our offensive production. To this point, it's been an utter failure.

Maybe this week we explode.

Is this the week we see a completion percentage over 50%?

I will be quite sad if it isn't.

The biggest difference is RED Zone efficiency! Yardage between the 20s is great, but if you aren't scoring what's the difference. I believe after Saturday, the offence is finding is groove, just keep scoring!

The biggest difference is Cole Tracy. We scored touchdowns at a much higher clip in 2017, but we couldn't convert FGs very well.

Hopefully the RZ TDs are just the victim of a small sample size.

LSU can't stay undefeated if they continue to put up numbers like that.

The record is all that matters and so far O, Alleva and Ponamsky are living right.

We do this just about every season. Sure, every other season we don't play 2 top 10 teams in our 1st 3 games. But we're usually 2-0 or 3-0 with subpar offense.

Someone points out the subpar offense. Posters say all that matters is we're 3-0. Then that subpar offense proves to be our downfall by the end of the season.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat

If the offense doesn't improve, it'll be the reason we lose as many as 4 games.

Remember when we just wanted a balanced offense since our rushing attack was dominant? Now we're struggling to get into the top 90 in rushing offense.

It does.

I am taking into consideration:
a) Burrow is being smart with the ball (throwaways via "uncatchable passes"
b) We've played 2 stout D
c) first time starting: QB, WRs, RB, 3 OL
d) new system, new OC

But those are reasons why our numbers aren't great. NOT reasons for not improving.

In fact, a-d are exactly why we should see improvement just as you said.

I'll be honest, I'm worried. I THINK I'm seeing enough not to worry too much. But my worry lies in the fact that we need to improve at all those spots, simultaneously. To have Burrow improve but not the WRs results in, well, Burrow not improving. They all have to get better, together.

Where I do not worry is that I think this staff, across the board, identifies all the places we are weak. I do not think there are any heads-in-sand with this staff. I do have some faith that this staff has the capability to address those once identified. Just not full confidence (show me and I'll believe).

Agreed. The offense is still a sizable liability. I'll continue to believe that until they prove they aren't.
