Crazy how 2 days ago we were told he wouldn't heal until the bye week; now he's ramping things up. If he's only looked average because of the injury, then he shouldn't play this week. BK implying he needs reps indicates there's more to it than that.

BK said that Nuss is now past the worst of it and is now on the side of becoming healed.

This is so dumb by Kelly. How much is Nuss realistically going to help his Heisman campaign when he ends up throwing for 200 yards and two TDs? Rest up dude. It’s not like he’s slinging it and can get an easy 4-500.

Maybe they plan on feeding him Toradol and he looks like the Nuss from the Oklahoma game last year

I’ll believe it when I see Nuss air one out to Hilton.

The quarterback not being able to throw deep balls to a bunch of new receivers in all camp likely did in fact slow down the development of the offense.

You are the child he is speaking to.

This is on par with "judge me in year 3"

Which turned into "no I mean it this time. Which turned into "Well Nuss is actually hurt"

Which is eventually going to turn into "we've got a new OC, let's give Kelly a chance to make this right".

Which will then turn into "It's only the new OC's first year and the offense needs more than a year in this new system".

Before we know it, it'll be "After three title winning coaches in a row, Brian Kelly maintained LSU as a program that could contend with the right staff in place" as we all look forward to the coaching changes board being opened.

So is the injury slowing down the offense or not? BK said it wasn't. Led us to believe its the OL dev. This sounds like its at least part of the issue.

I think it’s a combination of a lot of things why the offense has sputtered through 3 games, but mostly:

-offensive line
-game-planning around offensive line
-Nuss injury
-game-planning around Nuss injury
-facing 2 good defensive lines in first 3 weeks on top of the above
-gameplanning around all of the above to not let our offensive line (or their defensive line) beat us

HOPEFULLY this OL can develop or at the very least coaches gain confidence in it so that we can open up the offense. And hopefully whatever extent of Nuss injury we can get him back to 90-100%

Can't really believe anything Kelly says regarding this.

Or maybe, just maybe, the injury was awhile ago and they have been limiting his throws all camp and season, which they have, and it’s starting to get better now.

But BK specifically mentioned the bye week as the time Nuss will be able to "shut it down" presumably to get better... why not shut it down vs SLU.. and get better now

ORRRRRRR maybe we just have a forum full of people here who overanalyze every single thing that CBK says because they don’t like him and have an axe to grind with him

I think it will. Remember Emery Jones wasn't the starter for a few games in 2022. That OL kept changing weekly for a good bit of the season. When they finally found the combo, they got better.

Bingo

All one has to do with an ounce of critical thinking is look at the timing of this "revelation"...i.e. the first press conference following his absurd postgame blowup in response to a very fair question re: an issue that anyone who follows college football recognizes that LSU's offense is struggling.

If Nuss is injured to such a degree that it is severely limiting his and the offense's ability to have success, then why are you not resting him this week to improve the situation? Wouldn't that be the more prudent/beneficial approach to take for the long term, when the opponents are much tougher, than the short term, ensuring a better chance of an already extremely high probability of beating an overmatched FCS school?
