Wow what a horrible first post.

When both the softball and baseball stadiums vent out for bid both were over budget (most projects post Kitrina were 20-30% over budget, and bot projects budgets were established based on pre-Kitrina costs).
They rebid the softball stadium a few months later when the cut back on the scope of the project. When the baseball stadium went out for bid, and was over budget, the VE'd (Value Engineered)the project from what i hear, and went straight to construction without rebidding the whole thing.
Saving the old bleachers way have been one item to lower the costs.
From what i've heard the Baseball stadium is father along then the softball stadium becasue of this....

bleachers are bleachers. it's not like there's some new hi-tech bleacher that they're going to replace it with... what's the big deal?
and yes, you have tickets, quit bitching...
incorrect. your bleachers will have backs. ours wont. yet we have to pay a tradition fund and you dont. to me its at least a little odd but im not really that upset about it.

b, you have a back to our ice chest?
Also, how much newer are the outfield bleachers as opposed to the bleachers along 1st and 3rd in the old Box?

quote:No. He was actually right about this. The last 4 sections of bleachers on each side have no Tradition Fund donation attached.
and another thing everyone pays taf (they had charts at the old Alex Box), and I believe hr bleachers, which is seating section 8 in the new AB have the cheapest "donations"

This might be a dumb question, but can we bring coolers into the outfield stands?

I just saw this today but I have to say this had a MAJOR impact on my decision to request my tickets in 122 and not in the HR bleachers. I just couldnt justify spending an extra 100 a season to sit in the old seats with no backing. Im VERY happy I was able to get tickets at all though!

I never found anything wrong with the seats out there. In fact some lady found them to be a perfect place to get belligerently drunk and pass out during my first time sitting out there a few years back.

I really thought it would be a nice option to sit out there.. But it had me thinking if they are not putting new bleachers there then they will not be putting other things out there like bathroom, concessions etc either. Plus the TAF donation seemed rediculous to have on those. Seats I got in 122 were a step down from the walkway in the center. (Could have gotten aisle seats in 223 too) Just couldnt justify the TAF fee to sit out there in the old bleachers.

Is there a chart online that shows which sections of the stadium have TAF fees and which ones don't?

catman you make good points but the HR bleachers are where the tailgating and boozing happens. that goes a long way.

i hate that we arent getting new ones. my knees are always in the back of the people in front of me since there is zero leg room

im not too thrilled about it either.

that's where my friends family tailgated at the old box (left field lunatics as well). last i heard they weren't going to get to tailgate in the same spot in relation to the old box. has been a while since i heard this though.

To add even more insult to injury, sections 101, 102, 201, 202, 122, 123, 222, and 223 down the first and third baselines will be getting brand new bench-back bleachers and will not have to pay a "Tradition Fund."
Thats where my tickets are!
