Thats exactly it.

I guess the Backer in my deal wouldnt be so "Silent". I have a little experience with this, but the guy backing has ALOT of experience in it.

So, I would be the point guy like I said, and he would be in the background, but I would be helped tremendously by the money guy because it is pretty much my first venture and he has done many, many times.

Yeah...I guess thats what im asking. The "Silent" Partner is a tough thing IMO. If I were the one putting most of the money up it would be hard for me to sit back and be Silent.

Buying Property....

So Im thinking of going into a real estate deal with a family member, and the family member has the money to invest in the investment and will basically be silent. We are Buying some run down apts, in a good location, fixing them up, and renting them out.

It was my idea, but my family member will be the "backer" i guess you could say. I will also be the point guy for everything, the family member will just bring the checkbook to get the deal done.

Anybody else ever dealt with a silent partner in something like this or in anything?

Why do you respect him in the first place? The guy has been a total toolbag from Day 1. If he would nout have played the "single father card", he wouldnt have lasted past round 1 of the bachelorette. He is that Wet.

While I agree with you on the Valentines Day service I still say its bullshite that you look at a menu online, call the restaurant, make reservations, expect to have a full menu, and when you show up they have a scaled down nickel and dime menu and not the full menu. If I would have known this I wouldnt have gone. frickin bullshite.

I was there last night too. Had reservations at 9.

First off, we went to the bar to have drinks before we got sat.

I asked for a menu. They brought me the menu. I had been looking at their menu all week online and had some things in my head that I wanted. Well guess what...they had a special scaled down Valentines menu. So, pretty much everything I had been eyeing all week was not on the menu. They could have told me beforehand when I called to make res. that it was gonna this way. Total bullshite. Strike One
Then, we sit down, the waitress comes to ou table with a shittyass attitude. Granted, it was 930 and she had probly been running her arse off, but, I asked questions, and she didnt want to give me answers. She also seemed pissed when we asked her for anything. Strike 2.
Lastly, my GF and I finally figured out what we wanted out of the 10 choices on the menu. I got the Filet special, with Softshell Crab, and Mashed Potatoes on the side. My GF got the Stuffed Catch of the day with mashed potatoes on the side.

We made the order, were ready to eat, and guess what, the waitress comes up and says they ran out of mashed potatoes and they could substitute with French Fries and that was it. Strike 3.

Food was OK, Fish better than steak. not what I was expecting. Overall, I give it D for last night.

watched last night. another good episode. one question. What point do you think they were trying to make when Tim Riggins kept using the quote that he heard Buddy Garrity say about the down times in the economy. Something like "when the scared run away, thats when the real enteprenuers come out."

Are they trying to show that Riggins is starting to grow up...that he may be another Buddy Garrity in the making?
