The name “Hobley” was actually mentioned on the Dandy this morning.

Dale played opposite of Liffort Hobley and the two made an outstanding safety combo.

I never thought I’d see that again.

I had a class with Ratphuc some years ago, and witnessed him in a barfight in which he destroyed five offensive linemen from an opposing school, which shall remain unnamed. He's a reliable source for me regarding recruiting, on occasion, but I realize that all of this is undoubtedly Germans.

That 82 defense was legit....held ole miss -50 yards rushing, but could not stop GD John Bond and that triple option, 11 points from and undefeated season..and don;t even get me started on 4th and 4 Reggie Reginally...Hobley legit

Was that the punter who tried to run for it against Nebraska? His name escapes me.

Seems like yesterday when Ratphuc committed to LSU. Definitely a big day in LSU history.

Dale and Hobley were dbu before dbu. Seriously right up there with our great def backs but frequently overlooked when discussing the best. They should be in that conversation.

Absolutely they were as all eleven starters were drafted and went on to play some pro ball:

Marshall - NY Giants
DarDar - St Louis Cardinals
Elko - San Diego
Melancon - Atlanta
Williams - New Orleans (USFL)
Richardson - TB (USFL)
Joyner - Houston
Dale - San Diego
Hobley - Miami
Britt - Atlanta
Daniels - Indianapolis

Reggie Reginally

That name still makes me ill to this day.

I met Liffort at the LSU vs Miami game, which was Joe’s first LSU game. I remember asking him his opinion on players getting paid today and he was not a fan and thought they shouldn’t be. Thought that was pretty interesting.

I would imagine the reason ole Liffort probably feels this way is because before all this nil bs, the poor players were receiving full tuition, room/board, access to top notch coaching and training facilities/nutrition, quality pussy ON DEMAND while being provided a prominent stage to showcase their skills for a potential future EXTREMELY LUCRATIVE employment.

Oh, and also, the guys that actually produced we're being taken care of monetarily handsomely under the table. How IN THE HELL did those poor athletes survive before nil?????

nil is nothing but a participation trophy, where everybody gets a bite, (even and especially the non producers). EVERY SINGLE football and men's basketball player in big time college sports over the last 50+ years who ACTUALLY generated revenue for their school was "taken care of" and NOWHERE NEAR EXPLOITED like nut job libs would have you believe.

I know people here have a gutteral reaction to Reggie Regenelli. But he was a good football player. He always played with a chip on his shoulder because he was overlooked when he was recruited coming out of Newman.
