so Liberty should be in the playoffs this year?
UCF should've been in the playoffs in 2018?
Strength of schedule matters hugely in college football, when there's only 12 regular season game and very, very little cross-conference games.
No shite it matters in college football, I didn’t say it didn’t, but an undefeated P5 champion is a different story.
Liberty is in Conference USA genius. Liberty was not in the top 5 at the time. Undefeated P5 conference champion should get in over one with a loss. I’m a by the numbers guy. The fact is they won against their conference rival without Travis and won the conference championship with the 3rd string guy. They deserved a shot. There should be some level of objectivity here. Otherwise why even play the fricking games.

I hear you, but seriously, frick FSU and their problems. Those dudes were total dicks when we played them.
I understand they ran the ACC, but whatever, big deal. So basically, they're the new Clemson or something.
Meh, frick 'em, I don't see how any of this impacts LSU in any way.

If UGA smokes FSU and Bama wins it all then they’ll be vindicated

The reactions should have zero bearing on which teams get picked

The ACC is a joke of a football league.
The ACC was a joke when Clemson was winning that conference. The PAC 10 was and still is a joke of a conference and nobody cared who won that conference unless it was USC. The Big 12 was and is still a joke of a conference when Oklahoma was winning that conference. The Big 10 was and still is a joke of a conference no matter if Michigan or Ohio State wins that conference. In reality it should be the top four SEC teams playing for the National Title every year. History has proven that when a team goes 13-0 and wins one of those five conferences that they have a chance to win it all.

The reason the committee put in the phrase “4 best teams” is so that they could manipulate who the TV partners, advertisers, and other power brokers wanted.
Does the NFL choose the “best teams” to be in the playoffs or the teams that win their way into the playoffs?
Who is best? Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Best is merely an opinion, not necessarily based on logic.
The CFP committee could easily have ended all arguments if when they created the playoffs to simply make it sn 8 team playoff. All power 5 conference champions are in. 3 wild card selections based on a formula that takes in overall record, sos, & head to head matchups.

100% agree. The SEC shorts explained it very clearly
FSU got screwed .
Texas and Alabama has the huge market for $$$$$$$

Georgia will smash them and this will just reinforce their decision. Right or wrong.

Well well that’s why you play the games right? Oh wait why play the games just let a bunch of rich folks gather round a table and decided who is better and who deserves to play the games right?
Posted on 12/6/23 at 11:24 am to soccerfüt
So why play the games? They had to of played games for you to come to that conclusion right ? Exactly!

The more it appears that the committee got it wrong
Switch teams and LSU finished 12-1 beating undefeated Georgia in the SEC championship
assuming LSU did not play FSU the first game
What would LSU fans reaction be if FSU was picked over LSU for the CFP??

You need to add USC to this list. Frankly they'd be in the top three media darling teams along with Bama and ND.

Once you accept that choices were made based on who would bring in the most revenue.
Bama and Texas does. FSU not as much.
Listen, frick Bama. Like frick Bama. I wish they weren't in.
BUT, this is bullshite. FSU is insanely popular, too. The reality is they aren't the same team without Travis. Bama is better than them right now. That's why they did it.

The QB injury was paramount in their decision.Just fukin say it.

and a backup QB. If Travis was healthy, you go with FSU.
How’d the bengals win against the jags the other night then? According to this logic they should have been beat pretty good.
FSU has talent all over the field too.
Also, if we’re talking about putting in the 4 best teams, then why is Wash in there? I don’t think there is a single person in this country that thinks wash is better than uga.
This sport is now dictated by the greed of network executives and CFB is dying bc of it.

The Miracle on Ice would have never happened if this committee were in charge in 1980. The USA team did not pass the eyeball test and it was certain the Soviets would win.

Where does cheating fit into the eye test?

This was a very short sighted decision in my opinion. Crap like this can turn people away all together
