The more shots we take, the more it will open up the run.

CM game hopefully has given max the confidence that he needs to trust the raw receivers we have. We lacked that in the UCLA game to challenge their suspect secondary. Get Kiner more involved and we’re talking business. Looking forward to Goodwin. We need opposing LB’s to respect the RPO..sit until they diagnose. That’s the biggest key to running the ball.

Is it just me or the emerging playmakers have a backyard football feel to them? Just pure raw talent, just give them a chance to make a play. The confidence is definitely building around the team

Agree with everything posted, and yes it definitely has a backyard football feel to it, in ways it reminded me of 2019. I do wonder how Tre Bradford will fit into the mix.

I actually like the vision tre had, not so hot on the catching tho lol. As long as our O-Line gives enough time and Max gives the defense something to respect, we can continue building up to turn the page. Teams like McNeese shouldn’t get on the bus thinking that they just played a relaxed loss game. We need to look like we’re playing ball, not just going through the motions

If Max and the new freshman receivers have another few games like the last one, I expect the running game to continue to open up more and more as the season goes along, especially when Corey Kiner is in the game.

Oh, I can't wait to see more of Armoni Goodwin.

Embarrassment of riches with our freshman class. Makes me really excited for next year honestly. If O can hold onto his job, he has a really great opportunity for a championship run in ‘22. If we can roll State and somehow squeak out a win vs Auburn, we’ve got a great chance to redeem this season and make a NY6 bowl. Oddly enough, I think we can beat Bama this year. If our defense continues to improve and our offensive play calling improves, I like our chances.

In last Saturday's Alabama vs. Florida game, Florida was definitely the better team on the field.

Max needs more accuracy on the deep ball. The more shots he takes and misses, the less the defense will give a shite

He hit a few Saturday baw.

Burrow wasn’t perfect every deep ball in ‘19 but his receivers would go make a play like the receivers did Saturday. Max has started just a few games and is a sophomore - Saturday was against an inferior opponent but it was very encouraging.

They were 50/50 balls that any legit SEC defense would’ve come down with.

He needs to chill on that and actually hit open receivers. I’m not convinced he’s capable of that.

Said a lot of the same last week. Together, deep balls, RPOs, screens and tempo wear on the defense. It spreads them out and makes them think about what’s coming next. All of the above will help to open up the run game, especially for a guy like Kiner who has great vision.

He hit a couple deeper crossing plays in the 2nd half that I remember.

When he knows where to go with it, he’s good.

His last deep ball was on time and right on the money. The issue is getting Max to release the ball on time. Hopefully, the more he throws the deep ball, the more consistent and comfortable he will become. That seems to work Saturday.

They also need to call the RPOs. There were more against CMU, but through the first 2 weeks and going back to Max's 2 starts last year, LSU was at the bottom of the conference in called RPOs.

That’s a huge reason we were getting killed with him waiting on receivers to get open. Gotta go make a play eventually. We recruited this players for a reason

Tired of this excuse. Why do our quarterbacks have to be upper classmen before they stop sucking?

Why are our fans convinced players don’t improve with experience?

Kyler Murray started his freshman year as a backup, earned a starting job, then got benched again and transferred. Joe Burrow didn’t start until his 4th year. Lamar Jackson threw for 12 TD’s and 8 INT’s as a freshman. Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston took a redshirt their freshman year. All of these guys went on to win the Heisman Trophy.

Hell, Tom Brady didn’t start until his junior year of college. Peyton Manning was a third string quarterback his freshman year, and didn’t become a starter until both guys ahead of him got hurt.

I’m not saying Max will win the Heisman or become the next Tom Brady, obviously. But my point is that even the best of the best take time to develop.

It’s what’s been lacking, blame it on coaching. Another head scratcher.
