Cam needs to stay for a number of reasons.

He is not being fired. Keep drwaming though.

What the offense needs is some misdirection, creativity and a decent QB.

Fire cam and that gets you none of that. Fire les or give him an ultimatum then maybe!

Cam should go, and he should take Les with him.

At this point I would like to see LSU keep Cam on staff as the OC as well just for the continuity and experience he brings but with the stipulations that an assistant OC be hired who is more familiar with the modern pro style that most NFL teams (and many college teams as well) run these days.

Also the assistant OC could help Cam with QB development and in helping the offense to be more organized and to execute better, which seems to be two areas that have kind of gotton away from Cam. The new assistant OC could also serve as a 'passing game' coordinator as well.

a new assistant OC could also help Cam in those areas as well by bringing in new ideas and a fresh perspective.

Not really.

Do you want more of the same?

Just so I'm clear here. Are you saying the posi-tiger position on this is "Fire Cam"?

I don't know what positigers would do or think as they've proven to be a bit out of touch with reality.

Do you really think that bringing in a new OC will change anything? Les' offense has always been Les' offense, regardless of the OC. Jimbo left for greener pastures because he could clearly see the deal under Les. Since then, which coordinator has brought sustained innovation and forward thinking to Les' offense? It's been a shite show all the way down the line, and common denominator is Les.

There is only so much any OC is allowed to do offensively with Les' philosophy. A wrinkle here and there, but always basically the same.

If we see any offensive changes, it will be because Les has finally given in and decided to allow some new looks. History, however, does not indicate we'll see anything major.

Was change blocked by Alleva, or did the negotiations with Jimbo Fisher break down?

So, if LSU brings in another innovative coordinator, what do you think happens? Les hands him the playbook that Bo had at Michigan and says, this is what we do here. You can get as innovative as you want as long as it is something in this book. And I want to run the ball between the tackles 2 out of three plays,

If Cameron can't recruit a good QB prospect in this class HE NEEDS TO GO.

it's really not so much that Miles "dictates" the OFFENSE. But more so that he TENDS to HIre "OC's" who tend to THINK of "football", on the OFFENSE side of the ball, the same way he does!

Miles and Cam are literally tied together at the hip!

I think he needs to stay on the sidelines. Harris started struggling early, but was able to keep it together and ended up having a fairly solid night. Take away the drop by Jeter and his 4Q numbers were pretty much impeccable.

Seeing him favoring his thumb after his rushing TD last night where he went untouched makes me wonder if he's been dealing with a balky thumb for a while.

ETA - I also notice almost zero "check with me" plays. I've always felt those make everyone overthink the situation. Don't let the D dictate what you run. You do the dictation.

He isn't going anywhere. His and Les' futures here are tied at the hip. 3 year extension to match Miles remaining time with a Les goes, you go clause and he will sign it with a quickness

Quarterback development. That's 100% on Camerons back. Not getting the job done

I will say this:

They brought in a shotgun QB who had never made a 5 or 7 step drop while trying to make reads and have tried to force him into a square hole.

The last thing he needs right now is a new OC/QB coach...he's made progress, why stall it?

I liked some of the new wrinkles last night in trying to give him some confidence building easy completions to try and get into a rhythm.
