I dont get it. We want to play and win every game. I am sure Saban didn't tell Bama the game against Michigan in 2019 was meaningless.

Ask Ed Orgeron if those games were meaningless.

This “meaningless game” could give LSU its first losing season in 22 years. There’s a legacy for you.

Yeah Bowl games had alot more meaning in those days. They were a reward for a great season but now it's the participation trophy mentality for this bowl game season. Just sayin. I will watch but excited I am not

You could finish strong and make an argument that you should be ranked 1 or 2.

Don’t watch and Please don’t go to Tiger Stadium either ... I’m sure your one of those Halftime beat the traffic fair weather fans.

As for the rest of you who don’t care about LSU play in this Bowl game or any Bowl Game out of the playoffs or NY6 you have a right to Not Watch!!

It is an opportunity to continue to practice and the bowl will allow some players to step on the field for the first time. It also allows our new Coach time to evaluate.

yea, evaluate players in a system that he won't run, and with coaches that he won't retain.

You do realize Kelly can look at tape from this season's 12 other games to evaluate players?

The proliferation of bowl games results from Man’s worship of mammon.

What is this crap? Every time LSU steps on the field it matters. Against Kansas St, Kent St, or Ohio St, they all count.

Also, there are a lot of kids who work their asses off day in and day out and never get playing time that will finally get a chance to play in this game. They represent LSU and any fans who talk shite on this game and say they aren't gonna watch, etc. are doing those kids a disservice. They are the kids who we as fans should be cheering for - they don't quit and normally never play unless it's mop up duty. I'm going to the game and I'll be yelling just as loud as I do any other game.

Read my original post ......I will go to tiger stadium and I didn't say I wasn't going to watch the game. Reading comprehension is not your strong point.

I do like the other bowl games but our game does not excite me, sorry!!!

Why? Your two items have no correlation.

It’s ridiculous. When you coach little league, do you tell the kids that the games are all meaningless? No, a good teammate comes to all the games and does what is asked. It’s all just sports. It’s justified because competition and team spirit and effort are self-justifying things. If you skip a game, at any level of any team sport, because of selfish reasons, you are a bad teammate and lack character at least in some small measure, depending on the reason.

To say a bowl game is meaningless is to forget what we used to know about sports.

IF your bowl is not before Jan 3rd, is it really a bowl game? Nobody cares after Jan 3rd...its basketball season.

Are they not keeping score? Does the outcome not count as a win or loss on this season’s permanent record? Are we not wearing LSU helmets and uniforms competing against a different team wearing their school’s helmets and uniforms? Will that competition not be broadcast on national tv? Will the announcers not be uttering “LSU” for 3 and a half hours? Will the “LSU” logo not be permanently pictured for that same amount of time on the screen? Will it be painted in one of the end zones? Will there not still be a bunch of young men who committed to come and chose to play football at LSU over every other school that offered them the opportunity? Have those young men not stuck with the team and busted their asses all year—mostly in the dark while we could not see—and persisted in the face of great adversity?

Did you listen to Brad Davis’ press conference? Do you believe this game is meaningless to him? The other coaches and support staff who have stuck around, many not knowing if they will have a job on January 5th? There is a game. You play to win it. Victory. THAT is the meaning.

With all due respect—which is to say, none—if LSU is competing against another school and they are keeping score, by very definition it is not “meaningless.” Go frick yourself, and Merry Christmas.

They're all meaningless when you think about it. It's just a game. Not talking life and death here.

Are they in the playoff ?
No.
That’s all that matters. If that wasn’t true, opting out would not be a reality.
Once a team loses twice the season is meaningless.
