My dad really screwed me by not being profoundly wealthy

I graduated in mid 2010s in petroleum engineering when oil tanked and only 10% of my class had a petroleum engineering job when we did a clicker poll last day of class, and remember a lot of my classmates got jobs bc their dad knew someone, or uncle/daddy set them up with a gig. I remember getting fuming at my parents when I laid down at night because I didn't get that massive advantage like some of my friends got. Taught me a lesson though. I google searched, drove to companies with no introduction, and called up probably 100+ E&Ps until 1 finally gave me a shot. Some only made 150 BOPD. I did it the old school way I guess, by randomly showing up on doorsteps, phone, and calling. Can't tell you how many battles I had with secretaries who answered the phone but did not want to direct me to an engineer's extension. And the sales job I had to put on to the PETE managers that probably didn't want to talk to me. But the worst was 90% would say "Yeah let me pass around your resume to see if anyone needs anything." When in reality, they just wanted to be nice, but didn't actually pass my resume around. Probably didn't even open up my email. God I do not miss those days of driving 4 hours to stay in an Air BnB in Houston, just randomly showing up at E&Ps with my resume in hand trying to sweet talk/work my way past the secretaries. Also when people said "You get jobs these days by applying online and not really showing up unannounced." I'd tell them "There are 2 openings online for entry level PETE jobs in the country right now, and over 1,000 people are applying for those 2 openings. If that method worked, then I wouldn't be here right now." They just looked dumbfounded after I'd say that and have no clue what to say next. I even had a janitor and security guard tell me that. I forget how that struggle was and was way hungrier back then than now . I need that drive back in my life.

Had a former neighbor on facebook showing a video of her son's travel ball team in Omaha and she posted Holy hell there are so many LSU fans here. They were big Georgia bulldog fans. I told her LSU baseball is huge in Louisiana. I gave her a GEAUX TIGERS she laughed and said I believe it.
