TENN 2000 was louder than GA 03

TENN 2000 was louder than any game since 97 FL without a doubt....

Have not been to too many, so my pool is limited compared to most. I'd have to say the loudest was last year, LSU v. Arkansas. Although after the OT 4th-and-10 play Ark. converted, it got deathly quiet.

I've been to a bunch, but to mention one that hasn't been mentioned yet. When JaMarcus Russell dove into the endzone for the 2-point conversion against Oregon State in 2004, it got LOUD!

The CBS recorded level was 129.8 dB. The human threshold of pain is 130. You'll be hardpressed to find anywhere louder. And the pain threshold kinda kills any argument that other examples are wrong because they didn't capture the sound then well.

The prior LSU record was 119 against AU in 2005 (recorded at the doink).

USC 1979. Not even close and I have been to every home game since 1977.

Btw, the cold rain game in 1979 was against Alabama, not USC.

Yep. I was at both of those games. Great memories, even though both losses.

That USC game was like being at a concert. You couldn't hear the words of the person next to you, even if that person was shouting at the top of his lungs.

But the most impressive thing about the USC game was not so much how loud it was, but rather how long it was sustained. The noise was continuous. Relentless!

03 Auburn, when Lavalais stopped the Cadillac on 4th down Tiger Stadium was awesome

I'm surprised that this wasn't mentioned before the 3rd page. I'd compare that stop by lavalais and the following crowd noist to the Earthquake TD and the USC loss announcement. I was at all three. Three of the loudest MOMENTS in the games that I have attended.

Having said that, the loudest GAME for me was the '03 Georgia game. Also, I think that this is subjective to where you are sitting.
