It's hard to compare games from 03 and 07 to the ones with the enclosed south end zone - closing the south endzone has definitely made it louder because it keeps the noise in

I was at 03 uga and 07 fla and those were two of the best environments ever and I sat in the lower bowl

I was not in the lower bowl section for 19 Fla and 22 Bama so I can't give an accurate comparison, as I was higher up in the stadium

Maybe not sustained, but when the USC loss was announced at the '07 Florida game, I could not even hear myself screaming. It was surreal.

That exact moment will be forever ingrained in my memory.

I remember it was like my body was vibrating from the crowd
It was surreal

One game that people seem to forget is Notre Dame game in 1971. The teams lined up for the opening kickoff and had to wait for TV to come back from commercial. The crowd was as amped as ever. A guy went over the wall at the 50 and sprinted to the ball which was teed up and planted a big LSU flag right next to it. The place nearly came apart. I can still see that in my minds' eye like it was yesterday.

Surreal. Did you attend you at USC in 79?

USC game, 1979 was loudest for me. Beginning to end, ear splitting

USC - could not talk to the person next to me without shouting in their ear the entire game. The sound never let up. I wasn't there Saturday night but it sounded similar. Very proud to hear.

Been saying the last 2 days this was the first time since 2007 that I’ve heard it that way. Announcing usc losing against bama and the Flynn to Byrd TD against auburn. Don’t really care though it was freaking awesome

I will weigh in here since I have been going to the games since 1966. This one was way up there but the stadium used to be louder before the real fans started getting priced out of the sideline seats and before the east side started emptying out at halftime. That didn’t happen this week for a change.

Some of the loudest games I have been to was when the stadium held 67500 people.

1979 USC was the greatest home game that we lost.

Tiger Stadium at its peak was Florida 2007.

Saturday night was way up there though.

If I sound like a grouch it is because I just got back from the Saints game.

I have been attending since 1986 and that was the most sustained excitement and full crowd involvement that I have ever experienced. It was a phenomenal experience.

The crowd experience made me so happy. All we had heard over the past couple years from our fanbase is how DV is “weak” and “not what it once was.” Last night left no doubt in my mind that DV is back, and so is LSU.

Exactly this. Unless we were on offense, it never ceased. - surreal

It's up there with Florida 2007 in terms of how loud it was.

I was at Auburn 88, Florida 97, and Bama 22.

88 was mostly hot and quiet up until the end, when all the stadium’s pent up energy finally erupted at once. And the noise continued in the tunnels as we exited the stadium.

97 and 22 seemed similar for game-long sustained noise. In 97, after a decade of misery, we were just desperate for a big win.

The beauty of 22, of course, is that it combined the 88 ending with the 97 sustained noise.

My 2 cents.

1982 FSU is up there but Saturday night is now tops for me. Same seats since my first game as a 6 year old in 1975

1982 FSU
I was in the student section for that one and I consider that the highlight of my time as a student. But last Saturday tops that one.

Not the best quality but here's a link to a lot of the LSU-USC '79 game.

Wasn't there so cannot comment directly. But I question whether someone can compare noise levels in a stadium context across decades.

But just watching this, it doesn't appear McDonald (USC QB) was having much difficulty calling plays.

The defense getting the red zone INT on Bamas first drive to keep the crowd in it was so crucial. There’s so much energy and disdain for Bama that you hate to waste that so early. That play gave life to the crowd and they never gave up after it.

I was there in 79. I can compare noise levels over decades because I pay close attention to that stuff.
