Thanks for posting this article. It's so nice to see our fan base come to understand the man Les Miles. After our loss to Tennessee in Tiger Stadium his first year I was quite disappointed. So I decided to go on a Google journey to learn everything I could about our new coach. There was not a lot out there but what I found was about a man who was passionate about his work and family. I then got to see the HBO special on Bo and Woody. It gave me a complete understanding of what we had in Les Miles. It really stressed me 2 and 3 years ago when so many were ready to run Coach Miles off. But I said to myself that if Les was all he seemed to be he would eventually get things right. I had full confidence we were witnessing something special. We are so blessed to have the perfect coach follow Saban.

Les is the absolute perfect fit for LSU. He's embraced our school and traditions like no other coach I've ever seen. Win or lose on Saturday I'm happy to have Les Miles as our Coach!

Sitting on his couch at home last week, Miles recounted just one of the endless Les Being Les stories. When he was an assistant coach at Michigan, a friend got him an all-access pass to an NBA Finals game in Detroit. He wandered the belly of the arena and found himself in Chuck Daly's press conference. Well, Miles couldn't just sit there. He asked a question, evidently a tough one, because Daly glared at the back of the room and asked what newspaper he was from. Miles sort of gulped, as he remembered, thought for a moment, and came out with the name of the campus student paper. "The Michigan Daily," he said, before being hustled out of the room by his friend.

The same article could not be written for little Nicky.

Such a wonderful article. The more I learn about Les the more I like and respect him. How could a person not admire a man who conducts himself the way Miles does. He is all class. Go Tigers!!!!!

"2 or 3 years ago"???

How bout just last season?

You cam lump those "many" into the:

"I can't see the forest for the trees" gang.

Interesting how the LSU program some were claiming Miles was running into the ground just last season is bout to play in one of the most talked bout regular season games in history.

Win or lose, Les can coach my team any day!

Fantastic article! I have to say that out of my 82 posts 90% of them were defending Les when many rantards wanted him gone. I didn't defend him because I thought he was always right, but because character does matter, and in the long run his character and coaching ability will prove to be what keeps LSU football at an elite level. There is so much more to being a college football head coach than x's and o's and Les has that "so much more"!

If anyone was paying attention to Les's body language with respect to the Shady incident versus the Badger-gate. There existed two totally different reactions and ZERO had to do with football.

IMO Les was sick to his stomach worried about his players going to jail. He even looked bad during the time of arrest. Conversely, he looked pissed like a father who is upset with his own kids with the synthetic suspension.

Bottom line, in life situations football is merely a subplot with dealing with the rigors of his players.

Rocket was right after all!

WOW!! What a great read. I'm not going to lie, reading about him talking about his father that died and his son, brought a tear to my eye...

Nothing like a relationship between a boy and his Dad.

I have nothing but repsect for Les!

Anyone watching the winning taking place at LSU since 2005 and wanting Miles gone, at anytime, is college football/LSU footall/SEC football mentally challenged. imo
