Great Article. Reading this article puts things in perspective. Yes, the Bama game has massive implications and means a whole lot to a lot of people. But in 20 years, what will you cherish more? The LSU-Alabama game, or the precious time you get to spend with your loved ones?
When you look at your life, the greatest happinesses are family happinesses.

Wow. Just confirms what a lot of us already felt about the man. I truly hope that he retires here.

You want to know why Les is able to recruit so well?
That is the kind of man that I would want my son to around and learn from.
What a great man and role model to represent LSU and the entire state of Louisiana. He is easily the most likable coach in the country.

This is why Les is my coach. The man has integrity and he wins. I can't ask for anything greater.

Very well done. We are blessed to have Les. Win or lose you have to like the man. I was one not to high on him but he has won me over.

What a quality article! I'm sure Les enjoyed it.
He's fantastic and has always made college football a little bit more fun. I chuckled for days after that jump pass for a touchdown against Florida.

While I understand where they are coming from and I think of WORLD of Les Miles. The whole family thing and balancing with work is nice but let's be real. The man is getting paid 4 million a year to coach. When you are making 4 million a year you damn right you better be making sure you earn every single dollar even at the cost of your family like the other coaches in CFB.
It is an amazing thing that CLM have been able to balance it out but if he ever pick his family over football then he need to quit so we can find someone that put LSU football first over family. As fans that is what you guys are paying for.
You are so completely wrong on so many levels.
Plus he has picked family over football. There was an example in the article. Last Friday the choice was go watch a recruit or go watch his son. He chose correctly in my eyes.
Earning $4M does not mean being neglectful of your other duties in the world. I don't have any employees that earn $4M but every employee I have I would encourage to be more like Les than like most of the other coaches around. In the end my business will be better off for it.

Great read. With a record of 70-17, what more could you ask for. Hell, I can still remember the Jerry Stovall days when signs in the stadium would read "Stovall load your Uhaul" when he would lose games to Tulane or Ole Miss. Thanks for sharing this story.

I don't agree with many of his coaching decisions, but he really is a first class human being!

Do you actually believe this?

Awesome Read. He is a coach we can be proud of. Honestly I prefer his style and its clear now why the player love him and play their hearts out for him and why he can get the best players to come to LSU. Hope he makes a statemetn on Saturday night and laughs all the way back to BR.
ya know man, to me he's already made a statement. i will like him and support him even if we lose this game (not saying you won't). your post reminded me of back in '09 when many rantards were really blasting him. although i understood their unhappyness with the results that year, i never wiavered with my support for miles because he does it the right way. i guess being an old fart has enabled me to see a lot of different approaches and this man has a great one.
