re: The lack of offseason baseball coverage is why the sport doesn't grow.

I have always been suprised how fast the world stops talking about it when your team wins a national championship. The sports world stops talking about it within a few days.

Do you get mad during baseball season when they don't cover football in the downtime between portal closing and spring ball?

You have plenty of college baseball podcasts to listen to if you wish

Thinking that college baseball can’t grow because Matthew Musso doesn’t do a podcast in the offseason is crazy. OP is a retard

Yeah, well what do you expect? You think a local TV station or newspaper can afford to cover that just to see the content swiped and posted here?
Also, the sport is growing, albeit slowly. Back in the early 90’s there was only about 10 schools that took it seriously; now there are 10 just in the SEC. LSU used to pitch off in Omaha; now we pitch Paul Skenes against a four seed in Regionals. The sport has gotten way better, way bigger, and way better attended.

They don't cover it because nobody cares about baseball right now.
Fertilizer. I care. It's always baseball season.

Agreed. Even if it isn’t Cape Cod league updates, some probably wouldn’t mind seeing stat updates or a few sentences on Tigers in the Minors and Tigers in the Majors every week or so.
The LSU website/app used to have stats for this, but not currently, and it isn’t updated with the recent guys called up to the majors.
It seems like LSU gets a signee from high school or the portal about every week, too. These are all topics that the hungry LSU Baseball fan might want to hear about.

"Regional"? B.R. is certainly "regional" & should not require any reporting above & beyond the norm. CJJ is obviously getting his summer ball reports from someone /place. The Advocate has twice the Saints' coverage than LSU football coverage.

LSU baseball is as grown as it will ever be. It’s bigger than any other school. This fanbase knows more and cares more about their team than anyone else in the country. We do not need podcasts talking baseball 52 weeks a year when the relevant times are fall, all of the spring semester, recruiting and a brief window in the summer when draft pics are deciding whether to stay or go.
Even the baseball team is only worried about football right now.

Nobody anywhere gives close to what local media gives LSU baseball here...Nobody.....it's why so many LSU fans have misconceptions about what college baseball popularity is nationwide. Nothing wrong with the passion here I think it's great.
