Simple.

Just curious...what DID you predict?

I believe we should've gone 11-1.

Could've? Sure.

Other than the Bama lost we could have easily had one lost and been in the playoff. Shitty OL play and some injuries really didn't slow us down that much. I am pretty proud of this team.

There's a small serving of crow to eat. It was a better season than expected, and a good season. It wasn't amazing, and it was only slightly exceeding expectations (by 1 game)

But those expectations were, and still are, based on the idea that O is not a championship level coach, and he didn't move the needle on that idea at all in 2018, which is the biggest problem.

As I said before the bowl, and was apparent with how things happened in the game, it doesn't change much for next season. All it did was basically say we shouldn't be looking for coaches now. If we're at 2-3 losses in November and a lopsided loss to Alabama AGAIN, then we should be prepping to move on. O bought himself support for the beginning of next season. Well done on that front.

You're simple is right.

Pretty clearly, he did not predict 11-1, however, retrospectively, it's clear we should have been 11-1.

Yep, looking at the losses LSU, they aren't "bad" losses considering they could've beaten both Florida and A&M with a few breaks/good calls and a healthy, fully loaded squad. They didn't win, and no excuses, but A&M and Florida fans know those games could've gone either way.

Bama is on another level until Saban is gone.

UGA win was HUGE

Injuries suspensions and bad calls happen, and great teams overcome them, so no excuses anymore. The future is bright.

Conversely, we should've lost to Auburn.

In short, could've is what I would go with. It's your opinin though amigo.

Comically, there seems to be a serial downvoter doing work.

Feed me...I bought into the negativity and was even negative after the win with the red zone offense and clock management.

But after thinking about the victory, these tigers busted their asses this season and deserve respect. Good job by the staff for filling holes

"Gotta say, I have had a lot of doubts, but looking at the season as a whole, 10-3 was a heck of a year. I incorrectly predicted much worse."

I felt the exact same way.

Since I live/lived in the South Lafourche area were Coach O, Bebe (pronounced Bay-bay) to us, grew up, I was hoping that he would succeed. Having said that though, I never thought this season would turn out as it has. When we beat Auburn with a great clock management plan that allowed a walk-off field goal, I started to have more hope and faith. Then I was sitting in the south end zone when Grant Delpit diagnosed and stops a fake field goal in the Georgia game. Then my optimism started to be justified.

As for next year, I feel good. A depleted and decimated defense struggled, but they beat a very hot offensive team. And if, if, if they had had their hot shot qb while we had our team at full strength, we would have beaten them by a bigger margin. Here's what we have in place: a very, very tough qb. No one will convince me that the block wasn't a thinly veiled cheap shot as he and others stood over Burrow. We have a good recruiting class, and I THINK we have a great chemistry in place. I am hoping for a few more great players on both sides of the ball to join the class after that victory. Our receiving and defensive back corps look very solid to me along with two highly rated RBs. It looks like we will have something we lacked at times, depth. Do we need more work? Obviously yes when you look at red zone situations, but Ensminger did a better job than he was given credit for this year.

I really am expecting some changes coaching wise, and I have no insight into this; however, I feel something is up. With a great spring and fall practice, we should be poised to do well.

Feel free to down vote this. It's what I have come to expect whenever something positive is said about Coach Orgeron or a great game!

I was very skeptical with the situation on defense and our inconsistent offense.
I probably bought too much into the UCF offensive hype.

Happy to confess my apprehension was unfounded. I posted during the game that the games rested on Burrow's arm. He didn't disappoint. He is helluva competitor.
The makeshift defensive line played much better than I expected.

“ I have had a lot of doubts”

Once we got Joe, I had is at 10-2. So, I don’t feel as if I have to eat any crow. I also had us winning the bowl game by 2 to 3 touchdowns.

There’s never been anything wrong with a 10-3 record when you play in the SEC West. LSU football won 10 or more games in, 01, 03, 05, 06,07, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Would have won 10 in 2015 and 2016 if not for having games canceled. I don’t know why anybody would be surprised by LSU having a 10 win season or why 10 wins would now be seen as exceeding LSU football expectations.

It was a good season, some good coaching took place, some good player performances took place, and better than good recruiting .

Now, it’s time for LSU to win the west and produce a top 3 SEC offense. After all, that fundamentally why we made a coaching change almost 3 years ago.

I predicted a 4 loss season and they performed one click better. In my opinion, the FG kicker made the difference between 07 and 08.

We didn’t play conservative enough at times against UCF. Not running the ball an entire drive late in 2nd quarter gifted UCF a TD when we could have kept them from getting ball all together.

I had us 6 wins realistically, 7 wins with a break or two, 8 wins with a lot of luck. I never imagined we would win 9 regular season games.

I also never imagined Bama would shut us out at home and A&M would beat us.

Crow to be eaten here.

Who predicted a 6 loss Miami, 5 loss Auburn, 5 loss Miss State, 3 loss Georgia, 10 win Florida, 2nd place in the SEC West, Texas A&M?

Dude saw what he had as a team and was pretty aggressive to fill some holes. He made changes and additions in the offseason with what was available, for the most part he was successful. He is holding his own on the recruiting trail as well. I'm thinking the needle is moving in the right direction.
Especially when you consider we could be UF on their "? number" of coaches since UM. Dan Mullen is for real but think about all the bs UF has gone through, that very well could have been LSU.

He had a good year. Shouldn’t have lost to the aggies but good nonetheless the offense needs to improve a lot next year

Looking back we should have been 11-1 and a shot at the playoffs.

This season was good, not great. Offense still held us back this season.
