I think the SEC deserves 5 but don't think the committee will allow that for their typical political reasons.
If selection Monday was yesterday yes but three regular season weekends is a long time. Dating myself but in 2001 LSU went from #1 in the polls to playing at Tulane for a super regional by going 1-5 in the last two SEC weekends.
South Carolina, Florida, and Arkansas still have to run a scheduling gauntlet to finish the regular season.
ETA: Vandy too. Probably the toughest of all four.. @Alabama, @Florida, Arkansas.. woof

Need to bump that thread about how hard it is to get to 20 wins. Posters were saying the whole season would be a disappointment if we didn’t get there. We could finish 4-5 easily and still get a top 3 seed.

I said it in the weekend preview last week, but Alabama is going to show up in a regional as a three seed and make some host's life miserable for a weekend.

Looks like LSU is going to finish on the plus side of my "20-9 at worst" prediction after the Kentucky series.

Imagine if Tennessee plays just normal, solid baseball over these last three weeks, and don't stay infuego to end up hosting. Nobody in the world will want them rolling into their regional as a 2 seed.

Maybe this needs its own thread but looking at how the top teams finish, LSU is looking golden. Of the top 5 SEC teams who could host…
Vandy (16-5):
@Bama
@Florida
Arky
USCe (14-6):
@UK

Tenn
Florida (14-7):

Yeah nothing is a given but we definitely have an advantage. All the other 4 teams have to play each other at least once.

Arkansas and Vandy have the most to gain/lose. If I had to pick one schedule that’s the easiest, I’d have to go with Florida.

believe being in the SEC plays a big part in where you’re seeded on selection Monday.
It really doesn't matter. There have been what 3 or 4 all SEC Finals series? The two hottest teams are going to get there regardless. What gets more exposure? Coastal Carolina and Dallas Baptist, or LSU and Vandy? I don't really thing that LSU and Vandy get less. You can go to the largest markets and pull the best baseball teams and they probably don't get anymore exposure than SEC teams.

There are the non-hosting SEC teams that will be matched with the other SEC teams. 2 yrs ago we had to go to Tennessee and last year if we won, it would have been Ole Miss.
They’re not setting it up so SEC meets in the Supers. LSU was a 3 seed 2 years ago and went to Knoxville. Last year LSU was a 2 seed and Ole Miss was a 3 seed as the last team in. The playoff committee wasn’t setting up an LSU/TN or LSU/Ole Miss Super.
Of course when the SEC gets more than 8 teams in most years, there’s no way to avoid the potential SEC Super Regional matchup.

I don't think they like giving out 4 to the SEC, much less 5. They'll have to this year though.
But they'll look for the tiniest, most minute reason to leave out a 5th.
Then of course, as has been mentioned, they'll put Arkansas/Florida, South Carolina, Vandy and LSU on the same side in Omaha.....

I’m not sold on Duke getting one right now. I think the SEC gets 5 before the ACC gets 2.
They don’t want to give the SEC, or any conference, five national seeds. And they shouldn’t. They should be working to spread the wealth for the health of the game.

There are 5 undoubtedly top 8 seeds all from one conference, then they shouldn't get screwed over just because they play in a certain conference. It should be the 8 best, period.
That being said, there is a lot of baseball left and some of those 5 will face off. It may be tough to justify 5 when the dust settles. But if other teams fall off too, and five deserve it, then five should get it.

I don't think the seeds will work out like that though. Very likely there will be another SEC team at #3. SEC schools at 3,4,5 would not be surprising. Best case is Duke to slip in at 5 putting an SEC team at 6 and on the other side of the bracket.
