Les Miles was liked by his players and they played hard for him, saving his job
This team has completely quit on Kelly and Kelly didn't win a natty here like Les. Completely different situations

Correct. But that doesn’t change the fact that he is a State employee. With no president he needs to be involved.

He has to make everything about him. He knows that the whole state wants him fired, so he wants the credit for the firing. He’s a ULL guy, he hates LSU. He just uses LSU sports for easy political points

Why didn't you bold the part about having the governor put money in? This isn't a taxpayer responsibility. Also unless you're completely naive, you know that if the governor is helping pay for it he will want his input

So much for small government conservatives

LSU is not a private school. The state puts money into LSU because LSU is a state owned and operated school. Brian Kelly is a public employee.
I don’t get where you are coming from here.

In its absence, Gov. Jeff Landry has become integral and is expected, if he hasn't already, to meet with key donors & board members.
Having Landry involved in the actual coaching search will be a disaster.

Like I appreciate him getting the ball rolling on firing CBK, but as far as hiring…

He’s doing it because we don’t have a sitting president.
How is this hard to understand for so many?

The answers are that it doesn’t make sense and we can’t come up with the funds. Needs 150+ mill (buy out, new coach and future players)
I don't believe this.

He’s has to be involved because he is the one that has to sign off because there is no president as of now. The president is hired by the governor !

Landry being involved in the discussions surrounding options for Kelly buyout does not mean he will be involved in the hiring. Likely involved in contract negotiations but not candidate selection.

Sure…until he also wants to be involved in selecting the replacement…which he would
