Hate him, scold him, fire him.. etc. You CANNOT deny what he did for this program

12 years of some of LSU's best football in the history of their prestigious football program. 1 National championship and 2 Championship appearances. A 77.2% career win percentage, an LSU best, especially during the best and toughest modern era of football in the toughest conference. LSU also lead the SEC with 69 NFL Draft picks during that span, which includes 13 first round selections. averaging 1 first round picks a year.

No one loved their players like Les. He was beyond a coach to many of the kids in this program, he was a father figure, a good man, someone you could talk to and know that he cared. The whole Russell Shephard incedent where he stood up for him in the press conference made me realize that he TRULY loves his players and would always protect that no matter what.

Les miles will ALWAYS have the players back

Created the DBU label on our school and created an environment which is said to be the toughest place to play "where opponents dreams come to die"

While his offense became utterly stale and uncreative during his final years here, he was the face of our program and always held us in high regard.

Some Les Miles facts:

NFL Draft Picks (thru 2015; most in SEC since 2006 Draft): 64
Record vs. Unranked Teams: 72-11
Record in Tiger Stadium: 70-10
Record in SEC Regular Season Games: 60-28
Record vs. Top 25 Teams: 42-23
Record vs. SEC Western Division: 41-20
Record in SEC Road Games: 26-18
Record in SEC Home Games: 36-10
4th Quarter/OT Comeback Wins at LSU: 24
Tiger Stadium-Record Winning Streak: 22
Wins over coaches with a national title*: 16
Wins vs. Top 10 Teams 16
School Record for Single-Draft Picks (2013, 2014) 9
Undefeated Seasons in Tiger Stadium: 4
SEC Championships: 2
BCS National Championships: 1
LSU became the first team in SEC history to have a 3,000-yard passer, two 1,000-yard receivers and a 1,000-yard rusher in the same season in 2013

I will forever remember the GOAT Coach Les Miles and love what he did for our program.

He was great here and I appreciate him. It was time for him to go but nobody can deny the success he had here. I miss him terribly over what’s on the sideline now.

I wouldn't call him GOAT but life was a little better when he was running things.

This argument will simply get more useless the further we're removed from the Miles era.

If you want to really see "run into the ground," wait a few months.

Those who downvote are Orgeron fans. Don't know what we lost. hindsight is 20/20 and our program is heading backwards faster than ever under orgeron. Les miles needed to go, but not for our current coach

He wasn’t perfect. But I’d take him back today no questions asked.

Many of you must have forgotten how you skewered him as well for offense, clock management and other concerns. There is a lot to like about Miles but you forgot the times you derided him. You won't give Orgeron a chance, either. It's as if you are the all-knowing football mind when you haven't a real clue about coaching or running a Division 1 program. It is good this forum provides you a place to air your displeasure of LSU's personnel the minute an error is made or a loss is recorded. This is NOT just about YOU but you fit the mold perfectly as a perpetually disgruntled fan praising the "last" one and looking for the "next" one.

I loved Miles until 1/9. That's when it became apparent that the game had just passed him up. College football was changing and he refused to change with it. It was certainly time for he and LSU to part ways.

Now, given the choice between him and O, it'd take Miles 100/100 times. There's not a shred of doubt in my mind that we win 10 games last season with Miles at the helm, even with an incompetent offense.

If I knew the plan to replace Miles involved promoting his DL coach to HC and TE coach to OC, I would have helped carry Miles off the field on my shoulders after the Auburn loss.

That 2005 team is underrated.

2006 Finished #3.

2007 won the Natty.

F*ck the haters.

Les is more.
