Quarterbacks win championships. We rarely pull in a highly touted QB.

Am I wrong?

Of course you are wrong. There is no such thing as "must get". If Caleb goes elsewhere...there will still be LSU football and there will be some other QB identified, etc.

None of us ever even heard of Joe Burrow before he began considering LSU for transfer, for example.

Not worried at all about Qb next year. LSU has a very talented Qb room. I believe Parish will challenge Myles. If this is the case LSU is good to go next year and beyond.

If we go 10-2 with Brennan next year its a success. Then 2021 we might be in the playoff hunt with his experience.

Brennan will be in the NFL in 2021.

If the coaches go after a grad transfer will be the tell tell sign on what they think about Brennan. No matter who starts at qb next year there will be a huge drop off in production. Joe Brady and the scheme change are great, but Burrow is the primary reason for this years incredible offense.

Yep. Pay attention to the kid from Wake Forest. With Fromm leaving I'm sure UGA will be going after him but he supposedly has the potential to make a Burrow-like impact wherever he ends up.

Brennan will have to be really bad though. If LSU retains Brady and Myles can just put on 10 more lbs in the offseason I feel like LSU's offense will be dangerous as all get out next year. You return Chase and Marshall for sure. McMath, Lee, Palmer, Jenkins are all players. Boutte and Gilbert can make an immediate impact. Curry, Davis-Price and Emery all come back.

The O-line is the piece to watch next year. You lose Magee and Lewis for sure. No clue what kind of draft grade these dudes will get but if all 4 come back the offense will be stupid once again.

Cush - Jr.
Ingram - Soph.
Deculus - Jr.
Charles - Jr.

I'm going out on the limb. You heard it here first. LSU is going back to the playoffs next year behind MB. Not only that, I'm dropping $50 on him for the Heisman.

I think Myles will do well, I think we win the SEC because Alabama won't have a juggernaut offense, and I think Caleb Williams and TJ Finley will battle it out to be MB's successor.

Most people think we won’t have a juggernaut offense either for the same reason people think Alabama won’t.

There are several must gets, whether you want to admit it or not.

Caleb Williams would further prove that our offense has changed for good and isn’t just a one hit wonder.

If we strike out on QBs it might not end well.

I think Brennan will be good, but after that it’s a significant drop off.

Won’t matter how well he plays. We will have the Rally Opossum in our corner and will ride it all the to the Natty.

That's all we can hope for...
He needs to get his feet wet, I am sure he will continue to improve during the season, but it would be difficult for anyone to follow in the footsteps of Burrow, who this season has shown, is a generational QB!

Do you think that MB can be half as good as Burrow? Or rather, do you think that he can put up half of Burrow's 2019 production? If the answer to that is yes then MB is looking at something like 2,200 yards and 22 TDs.

To put that into perspective Danny Etling finished the 2017 regular season with 2,234 yards and 14 TDs. LSU ended up playing in the Citrus Bowl that year.

In 2016 Etling had 1,906 yards and 9 TDs during the regular season. LSU ended up in the Citrus Bowl.

Worst case scenario MB is Etlingesque and LSU goes to the Citrus Bowl.

Brennan will break all the old records Joe Burrow broke this past year. He wont set any records Burrow set, but he will still have a year better than any QB before Joe came.

If Brennan stays 2 years he will lead us to at least one sec west title at minimum. Possibly 2

Just my opinion, I think how far the team makes it depends upon how many undergraduates stay. If everybody outside of Jefferson, Helaire, Delpit and Chaisson stay and all the coaches stay too, I think they will have a good chance to win the SEC. Of course that's being healthy and having a little luck on your side also.
